On the site currently it says replacement rotors aren't available. That's my concern with the PFC's. However, I've seen you mention in a few thread now that PFC will continue to make rotors (rebuild parts etc.) for this kit. Conflicting to what BW told me. Maybe who I spoke to at BW didn't know what they were talking about.. but that's the reason I never considered the PFC's seriously and have been looking elsewhere.
Indeed, the person you spoke to at BW was incorrect. They will continue to supply parts for the forseable future. One day they will no longer be made, but that day is far away.

If you call and ask to talk with Phil or John they will confirm

That's good to know, can't remember who told me otherwise. I'll give them a call tomorrow!

There is also this alcon kit from Paragon. Pad changes looks like it requires caliper removal but no different then some Brembo kits..

That's why I specify the Alcon-Bimmerworld kit whenever I talk about it, to not confuse it with the street kits that are out there from Alcon

The aftermarket will pick up the slack. RacingBrake has produced a lot of "generic" BBK service parts over the years, like seals and boots.

Coleman Racing for your rotor needs. Send them the old ring, get new one cut.

Not to thread jack, but I couldn't find your sale thread.

Is going just front (say AP) going to be plentiful?

I tracked with just my front AP kit for a while. You won't experience fade. Front brakes are 90% of it, but you'll eventually want to complete the kit.

Reviving this thread. Now building an E90, and looking at just biting the bullet on AP before the price increase.. with everything it comes to 8.8k, a serious chunk of change. For weekend warrioring, is this completely necessary?

I can afford it at the moment, but it's just a big ass $$ money pill to swallow. Especially when I can buy so much bro mods for my new car... haha

If you need Ferodo 2500 pads, I have a set I'll sell at a good price, assuming you get the 9668/9449. Use their pad discount with the kit on the racing pads.

I don't see the huge need for the rear kit if you're just weekend warrioring. Just my .02.

Get front only AP 9668. Rear just deal with annoying pad changes

Yeah, thirding that, not necessary to do the rears. Just do the front kit. A little more budget friendly and really all the car needs.

Just the fronts will be fine. I'd suggest the Alcon kit from Bimmerworld personally, now that the PFC kit is no longer available.

One of the biggest benefits of the rears is cutting weight. I think its like a 20-30 pound weight savings. If that doesn't matter as much the funds may be better spent elsewhere.

One benefit of the AP racing is that it is a 372mm setup and can help with better 18" clearance. Most 18" track wheels do clear 380mm setups but like when I had an off, the rocks got stuck between the caliper of my 380mm ST60 kit and scored my BBS GT4 wheels on the way back to the pit

ST60 would be way more than enough for weekend warrior though. It's only when you get into weird knockback issues that the AP racing kit shines.

Brembo GTS has worked pretty well for me, fwiw. No pad taper issues, no knock back. Hard anodized, no rubber dust seals. Looks rad. Just another option. [IMG][/IMG]

Ignore the ride height and bumper just set in place. Was tackling a few projects at the same time when I snapped this earlier in the year.

4th…ing.
And the OEM rear pad swaps seem really quick to me.
Like, I think I can swap them just as fast, maybe faster than my front STs?

(I don't notice the visual difference front to rear, as much I used to, but some slotted rear rotors would be nice…)
