I am enjoying reading about the cams but $2400 plus $900 tune is half a used supercharger plus tune and that would be my choice for a street car. I can't afford a $90k track car but I am hoping to afford a $90k street car eventually like a used 991.1TT

Sorry giys, Randy from epic is not local so I'm on the 5th iteration as we fine tune as I have even got data logging or dyno going yet.
I am tuning to a 100 octane mix as at this point the car is mostly track .when driving to a track sways away I load oem tine and runs amazingly! This ecu we have sire can accommodate. Not getting full benefit but drives perfectly and fast. Trying to get a dyno session Saturday. So it's catless evolve xpipe, bmc oiled filter, cams and 100 octane. The thing pulls hard but I know there is more in it. No ecu codes or anything, even on own tune Stay tuned |

I am really pleased with my 284/284 12mm lift cams. I simply have been a bit slow to coordinate further custom tuning with Randy from epic because finding a local dyno and a day during the week that works for both of us has been hard.
I then had a recent oil leak from one of the valve gaskets replaced during the change so the car was out while getting that fixed and making sure all was ok which it is back in action now. I am excited to get on a dyno. I am excited to get further customization but these idle perfectly smoothly, they pull nice and hard through the whole rev range and I would highly recommend this but do wait for dyno oresults before doing it. I am running a modified race fuel tune as I mix 108 with 91 which isn't true 100 octane but a race-mix so-to-speak and have been tuning off of that. I had that before as well so the gagins are not just from the fuel useage. However if there are cams with a 14mm lift and more aggressive duration out there with a tune to go with it, sign me up!! So where are the specs for these cams posted above?? |

Cat does them as well, too. I'd recommend picking up the phone.

Dear Mr 8600RPM. I’ve been watching your Schrick progress for what seems to be ages, refreshing this page every day, and so I’d really appreciate seeing the final dyno results.
I’m considering a set for myself, but the life of each I can’t find a before/after dyno chart to prove their gains, and I’ve read pretty much every page on the internet already. Thanks in advance. |

I have an E92 coming in a couple of weeks for a long winter project installing a MoTeC M150. I believe I've convinced the owner to drop cams in as well. Since the real challenge of tuning cams properly is the amount of time necessary to develop the two maps properly in a reflash based system (OEM), using the live tuning on the MoTeC allows putting the car on the dyno and holding a fixed throttle value and RPM and adjusting cam timings on the fly to find the optimal point. Then run up the RPM range in increments and repeat. Then repeat on the next throttle setting. It allows finding the optimal points much, much faster than map, dyno, review, remap, dyno, review over and over again.
Since the point of cam mapping is to optimize the VE at the different operating points, it's easy from there to transfer those ideal maps back to the stock DME. If I ever make it progress on it, I'll share what I find. At any rate, it will allow for optimal tuning of the stock cams. |
