Welcome back. Threads like this one always make me re-think selling my car. I picked up a civic type R to daily since my S4 just wasn't very fun, but I was considering an F80 and at the time a few months ago I found the last brand new 2018 in Sakhir in the country, and my dealer would have taken it down from 84k to 73k after transporting from New York. After driving an F80 I knew that the Type R would be more fun, but I still have the urge for a torquey RWD car with a manual, and my supercharged E92 as you say still lacks torque, and the ESS625 kit I have still demands you wind the car out to get any value out of the s/c in the first place.

I have gone back and forth on selling my E92 and jumping into an F80, and I do wonder sometimes about the long-term reliability of an s/c M3. I have about 8k miles on my ESS625 kit now and 76k on the car. How long did you have your s/c on before you sold the car?

Also I'm with you - I had an E46 M3 and it was a top shelf car and certainly IMO the best representation of M. One day when my garage isn't overflowing, I'll have one again.

My advise will be do not sell the E92, the F82 is a nice car, much more torque than the s/c e92 but the V8 is a unique engine
I had my s/c for 9k miles without any issues, i am going to get one for this car as well, ESS are very reliable kits for what i have read and my own experience with my 650 kit
I bought my first e46 (carbon black) just as a fun car while i was waiting for the delivery of my F82, was planning to sell it when the F82 would arrived but it is such a great car that i kept it and bought a 2nd e46 which is my favorite car of all the M3s
