The only e93s I've see with roof problems are ones that were in an accident.

I owned an 2008 e93 with over 160k when I sold it last year and it was nice and quiet and felt well built. Unlike the e46 m3 vert I have now.

That said a. F83 roof is pretty much the same tech as the e93. I'd say they are the same and with age will wear the same. But you can't fix that weed wacker sound.

Love my ess e93 . I don't drive it as much as I should but it's the perfect combination of power and performance. I'm stuck as I don't know what's next . Bang for the buck best car I've owned .

Changed mind.. went ahead and traded the m4 for a new miata... i mean they are the ultimate drivers car and get such great gas mileage.. the speedometer goes up to 160 mph too so it must be fast.. really love the car.

Also looking at a low milage e93 335is. Anyone ever drive one? M cars are so much better but I am more of a straight line guy and crusing around town. Tuning a 335is would be pretty sweet and would not have two m3's to worry about rod bearings. Also saw a low milage 07 m6 convertible. Maybe too much car for me though but having a car with a v10 is awesome

If you are straight line and cruising the N54 335i is an animal. Buy a used Cobb tune and it's faster and waaaayy torquier than than the E9x M3 or even an American V8. If that's not enough then go full bolt on. There's so much torque everywhere the manual is almost pointless—not much joy in shifting an N54. It won't have the handling of the M3 but it's still a very handling car all things considered.

The 135i has a fabric roof which will be much quicker to put up and down, at least I would guess. The 3 series vert is like 30 seconds up or down.

If you're going with a slow vert, might as well have a newer one.
