$500 increase on M3 Coupe and Sedan after Jan 1

My CA just called me to tell me there will be a $500 increase in the price of both Coupe and Sedan after Jan 1, so he wants me to order now instead of waiting until Jan 29 (my birthday when I was going to order).

$500 isn't that big of a deal, but I may order the week after Christmas anyway.

He said he has documentation to prove of the price increase, but has anyone else been informed of this?

Thanks for the info.

Not a surprise at all. In fact, I had originally expected this to come along with the 2011.5 changes, and was actually surprised that they held off at that point and waited until now.

Are you taking advantage of $1,500 holiday credit?

I have been told the same by my dealership here in the UK that there is a price increase as of 1 January 2011. We are also lucky enough to get a goods and services tax increase of 2.5% too!

As I said my CA told me he has the documentation to prove it so I certainly don't think he would say that if it weren't true.

It is true. All E9x M3 and the new 5 Series get a $500 increase for 2011

PKL - Thanks for the heads-up.

Trust, but verify.

I have an M3 on order and my dealer has told me that VAT increase will be absorbed by BMW for cars ordered pre 31 Dec and delivered before end of Feb.

@hbcpa

I am sure a scan or pdf of the memo with all price increases will be posted by someone soon. It'll probably make the bimmerpost front page in the next 24 hours or so.

Sounds like he's bullying you into buying it sooner than later.

Usually when you buy right before the end of the month they give you the best deal - given that they would like to sell as many cars as possible in that given month to beat their last quota and beat other dealers.

With the $1,500 holiday credit, and the fact that price goes up $500, I am in essence saving myself $2,000 off the price of the car by ordering end of December instead of end of January.

FWIW my "deal" is $500 over invoice, with holiday credit bringing me to $1,000 under invoice.

Yeah it just happened from the time I ordered my car in July to when I had to reorder it a few weeks ago. He never really told me why though...

The original posts specified "coupes and sedans". Would assume the convertible also?

All the London dealers I spoke to over the last couple of months were definitely not willing to be so generous on the VAT but definitely there is a price increase post 31 December 2010.

Hey guys sorry just saw this, I had Ryan check into this and Pricing increase confirmed as of January 1st. However, if your order is placed and rate locked prior to Dec 31st, there will be no increase! Bad new I know however at least its not more!

Thanks for the confirmation Jimmy. Get those orders in guys, with $1500 holiday credit and $500 increase you are effectively paying $2,000 more after Jan 1!

Thanks PKL.

I pulled the trigger this morning. Just waiting to hear back from my CA. $2K is too much to leave on the table.
