Stoptech st60/380mm F/R balance?

Guys,
I'm getting ready to replace the factory front E9 caliper/rotor with the ST60/380 combo.
Will there be an issue w/ front to rear bias?

I'm currently running hawk DTC 60 rear pads w stock caliper/rotor.

Slowly turning this into a track day special.

Cost is keeping me from doing rear bbk at this time.

Thanks in advance.

You will be fine. I started with the Stoptech front kit, and added the rears later.

Btw, I think we met last month at Sonoma. (I have the white sedan)

Ahhh, yes we did!
You have a great group of track buddies!

Btw, I joined BMWCCA (per your recommendation).

Thanks for the advice. Hope to cross paths with you, and your crew again soon!

If I had to do it again, I'd go with the ST40/355 BBK. Pads are much cheaper, more options, and you're not giving up much in terms of performance. You'll go through pads a little faster but the lower cost will offset that.

Most of all, in a pinch, you can almost always find an ST40 pad. Same pad shape as older Brembo's and Porsche 928/944/968 and some 911s (which used a Brembo caliper).

+1 I'm running the ST40R kit on all four corners and love the setup, cheap pads, low weight, great performance (minus knock back... the KB springs are crucial on any ST kit though likely). I do burn through pads fairly quick even with cooling. I ran the ST60 on my last car and wore pads less quickly but performance on track is identical over a 20min max session.

i tracked on a front only bbk for a while before i upgraded the rears. you'll notice a bias, but it will be controllable and manageable. you'll still be faster and more confident. there difference isn't huge, so don't let it sway you, it will be fine.
