I had the same issue when I used the idrive harness. I removed the idrive harness and connected A to B and that resolved the issue.

In the main harness. Wire labeled A to Wire labeled B. Don't use the extra iDrive harness at all.

Thanks. Will try that tomorrow. Do you leave the rest unplugged? What do you do with the loop removed from "B"?

You only need the loop when you need to code the CIC. Otherwise, the loop stays unplugged.

I don't have it hand, but there should only be 2 flipped. Try flipping 7 up.

Your dip switches may be fine. Make sure the display in and out cables aren't on backwards and check the IDrive connection like others said.

I got this a few times and I think my display cables were flipped.

I got it to work without the idrive harness. Just waiting for them to send me the right cables now. They sent me two lvds in cable, so I had it all apart to test

So I tried the coding today to activate aux via the head unit but didn't work.

So the coding happend successfully. But when I go to multimedia in idrive, the menu is frozen. I can't select anything.

All other idrive menu's are working fine. Any ideas?

Did the iDrive reboot after coding was successful? If not turn off the car, lock it, wait about 5 minutes, then start back up. If there's still an issue, then something must have gone wrong with the coding.

Yes it did reboot.

Could it be 6NF related? My car also has 6NF option as well as 6NL.

Maybe I need to disable 6NF too?

I have the snap in adapter (6NF) option as well and had no issues. Which tool/app did you use to code? I would try doing the shutdown, lock, wait 5 mins, then startup again sequence. If that doesn't help then maybe try redoing the coding.

Interesting. I used NCS expert which I have used for years. And I did the coding twice but same result.

I'll try the 5 mins method, see if that works.

if the shutdown sequence doesn't help, then read the CIC module again and check the trace file to see if the values got applied to the three parameters.

Sounds like the coding worked for you? If so,. I presume your 6FL USB in the armrest no longer works?

If so, have you tried disconnecting the 6NF connector from the combox and plugging the 6FL connector in here instead?

I haven't tried the USB port in the armrest and I gave up trying to disconnect the snap in adapter since the third wire is not easy to get to and I didn't want to cut any wires. I'll try the armrest USB port next time I'm in the car but I'll be surprised if it still works.
