Slicer + Fall-line Motorsports E46 + S65 Build

Hello M3post gang. It's been a while since I have posted in this section but I have something to share that may interest you. Over the years I have had an E36 M3, then went to the E9x platform (1 E90 and 2 E92's) with a short stint in an E46 M3. In 2020 I sold my e92 M3 and stepped into an M2 CS. After a few years with that platform, I made the move to step back in time to what I consider the best of both worlds. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an E46 built by Fall-Line with an S65 swap. Below is a general summary of the build (many more details and custom fabrication beyond this list)
  • E46 M3
  • S65 swap with GS endurance race build +
  • Dailey Engineering Dry Sump (Oil tank in Trunk)
  • Drenth Sequential Trans
  • KMP Paddle Shifting System
  • Bosch Stand-alone ECU
  • Recaro P1300 GT Seat (Carbon)
  • Flossman carbon wide body, Doors, vented fenders, carbon hood, carbon roof, carbon trunk, carbon rear bumper, carbon front bumper, carbon splitter.
  • Brake Ducts and Backing plates vented through bumper openings
  • Fall-Line carbon intake through kidney Grills
  • Custom Cooling setup with front angled PWR radiator and oil cooler
  • Trunk mounted Differential + Trans Coolers
  • ATL Fuel Cell in Trunk
  • Full Cage
  • M24 Carbon Dash
  • Ferrari Rear Wing with Fall Line Uprights
  • MCS Triple Adjustable Remote
  • Various Custom Suspension Bushings + arms
  • Gusseted Uprights
  • Brembo Endurance Racing Brakes
  • Custom Exhaust
  • Lexan Windows
  • Drexler LSD - 3.91 final drive

My Adds thus far:
  • BBS E88 in 11" square with 305 Pirelli Slicks (car can fit 315/335 Hoosier)
  • Sparco harnesses + Steering Wheel
  • AIM MXS Dash
  • Drexler LSD

I would have bought it sooner if I knew how amazing it would be.

I'm not much of an E46 guy, but this one is pretty sweet. Nice pickup and enjoy!

Wow what timing, I just picked up a black E46 M3 roller and want to do something similar (S65/62) unless I'm cheap and go LS3. Gorgeous car... that power:weight is amazing.

Thank you. I always preferred the e9x platform as well. However, between the S65 and the wide body, this e46 definitely hits me differently.

From what I understand it’s not easy to fit the S65/62 while maintaining steering routing + performance. There’s a ton of fabrication that Fall Line performed in order to make this right. Dry sump allowed them to lower the motor and gain some space to make everything fit.

The Drenth might be the coolest part of the build, can't stop drooling over this whole thing.

What's the suggested rebuild schedule for Drenth sequentials?

Thank you.

Fall Line told me to keep an eye on metal shavings in fluid. They said rebuild as needed. Reality is that I’m not racing the car. I don’t need to adhere to strict rebuild schedules for competitive reasons.

S62. My junkyard motor made 432 / 375 wheel hp. The race motor has a bit more 😉. I have issues with driveline parts letting loose at the higher hp level.

Duh, S52 would be a downgrade from S54. I meant S62. . I’m sure it’s a beast!

Second video added to original post. Unfortunately the vantage point is not all that ideal. However, it does provide a great representation of the sound. It's truly an experience.
