2009 M3 Fuel Rail leak?

So I took my vehicle to get fuel breather valve replacement and thermostat replaced. Then I got a call from the shop saying that I had a fuel rail leak but I never smelled fuel when driving car. Is this something only noticed when you take the plenum off or would I be able to smell fuel if I actually had a leak?

No, u don't have to take the fuel rail off in order to replace the thermostat. You might need to only loosen the driver side fuel rail 2x small torx bolts, to create little room to wiggle out the thermostat housing.

When I replaced the Tstat I was lazy and didn't lose the fuel rail but instead bent it carefully to get the Tsat housing out. Connection between rail and hose started to leake/smell under the pressure. Put things back and was fine since.
My guess is that they broke it during the job...I'd have a discussion with them about where it leaks. Can't see any other reason/places it would.
