BMWCCA is back at COTA - Jun 10-12

Not sure if it's been advertised that well so far but BMWCCA is back at COTA. Not a joint event with PCA...but it's a BMWCCA event.

Woo all I can think of is how hot that event will be. Should be a good time still.

Anyone ran Cota in an e92 around this time of year with stock cooling? Worried it might be too hot to run that fast or a track but want to go

COTA can be tough on cars. My car tends to run a little hotter at this track.

I've ran my E90 M3 without issue. My E46 would run really hot when it was closer to stock.

Just depends on how hard you are going to run it (I know crap answer - sorry). I outran the stock cooling my first time out there a few Octobers back. The DCT was the first to be affected but the oil temps would get up there too. Would have to do cool down laps and stay out of 2nd & that would get the 2nd half of the session in fine. Have a feeling in June going to see quite a few cars running mid session cooldowns though - so wouldn't worry about that too terribly much if concerned about being off pace for a bit.

do88 coolers can also clear this right up

Do make sure your brakes are up for it if you go - COTA is also hard on brakes.

Really need to check the whole car carefully. You'll see higher lateral loads since the surface is grippier than most. I see 1.3gs and 1.4gs more often. I've even peaked at 1.6gs. It's harder on suspensions, electronics, and the motor.

Why June? Figured BMWCCA could do better (i.e. shoulder or winter months)...

Should always check the whole car carefully before going on any track...
