Quick Question.
What if I take off the back part behind the regular 3er fog switch? Will it fit on the M3 fog (the bottom switch)?

If you are talking about the white piece behind the regular 3er fog switch...then...YES, it will fit in the M3 bottom switch. The only thing you need to do to the M3 switch is take the all black bottom piece out & cut off the little tabs that keep it from being pressed in.

Awesome. I just got the back piece from regular 3er fog switch.
I'm going to cut the bottom button tooth and install the back piece.

Ok guys, WilliamChang82, AKA Will, is my old employee. My dad made these mods for him, Will was suppose to pay my dad for the design time and machining time to make these pieces however I ended up firing Will not knowing he owed my dad money for these pieces. He left the pieces in my shop and after he was fired he never returned to pick up his stuff because he owed my dad money.

So, thats how I ended up with these pieces and the knowledge of where he was selling them (he left his password on one of my work computers).

If anyone stil needs one, I have about 15 pieces left. Send me $20 via paypal and I will have it shipped out within a few days.

Unless any place in the US has one in stock, you will not be able to get the Euro Switches anymore! BMW NA has put a stop to any orders & will not allow them to get through customs. As far as I'm aware, this is only on E9x models as I just got a Euro switch for my wife's '04 E53 X5 to do it on her SUV.

Got this from Nick today. Took me about 30 minutes to install. One of the best mods.

I got my M3 in yesterday and one of the 1st mods I was planning on doing was the rear fog lights swtich. I was planning on using the white plastic piece from my 335's old switch.

When I took the M3's switch apart, I've realized that it actually had not one but two of the white pieces in place. All I had to do was cut the plastic edging from the lower button to activate the rear fogs....

I don't know if BMW just decided to add those white pieces to all switches now but 2011 MY owners just need to cut the tabs under the buttons to activate the rear fogs.... No need for a Lego mod and no need to spend $150.00 for a euro spec switch. This is now a very simple mod....

I have a question: Can someone confirm that rear fogs only work when the headlights are on? I remember them working just with the parking lights on among w/ front fogs on my 335 coupe. On the M3 headlights must be on in order to turn on rear fogs....

I found this also to be the case in my 2011 E92 M3. The difference between the Euro switch and the US one is that you get a button with a symbol that lights up - not a big deal to me. However, I had already bought the Euro switch (without the chrome accents) and so it was a really easy swap of buttons.

I'm pretty sure it only works when the headlights are on.
