Heads up: aFe CAI at $500 discount at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/AFE-50-11662-B...534731&sr=8-18
I was browsing Amazon and found this. I just bought the "stealth" version for $460 with the dry filter, but anyone interested in this system, there might be a bargain here [I am not an aFe rep by any means!]

wouldn't that aluminum intake cover heat up much faster (from the heat of the engine) and thus would heat up the intake air faster than the plastic cover?

Poor design with the intake element exposed to hot engine air when there is no reason for it. Your car will pull timing and you will lose power.

That's why I got the unit that fits in the air box...which has the same "gains" claimed as this open unit.

I'm much more of a fan of the other intake they sell, which is what I have on my car. Don't like that one at all, and not sure where they got the ~1200 retail price. I remember it being around $500 when it came out. |
