Self installed a ESS Tuning VT2 595

Special thanks to Kevin at EAS. The install went well. It was difficult for me, since it was my first S/C install and I did the entire job alone. The toughest part was mounting the S/C with the bracket attached, I have the Gen II kit, so bracket is a bit different. The directions are good and with some good mechanical background, I was able to finish it in a couple days.

The only problem I had was with the upper radiator hose on the driver side (USA car). I had not re-seated it properly after mounting the bracket, which led me to problems during the first run, etc... I found the leak and reseated it and am all good now. I have put about 300 miles on the kit and its awesome. I had a spirited drive from Ohio back to Chicago. Here are some pics and a short video of the first start.

I agree! Btw, not to change the subject too much, but I have checked out your DIY on Rod bearings. Do you also have a youtube video on that? I think I may have seen I think.

You got that kit installed in record time! Glad you were able to sort out the coolant leak and everything is going smoothly. Post up some pictures when you can.

Thanks man. I appreciated the help and the smoothness of the purchase and shipping. I got it sooner than expected! So I was stoked about that.

I will post more install pics (gotta resize them) a bit later. I don't have too many more, as my hands were literally covered in grease lol. There were parts I had gloves for and parts where I didn't so I could feel the bolts better, etc...
I also have a video of doing the initial ecu read and the first start up. I am sure people looking S/C will wanna see that. The install went smooth and its a great lit all around.

Here are the rest of my pics. The directions mentioned to use red thread locker to mount the S/c to the bracket and to torque them to 25-30 lbs. The kit also had the black injectors.

Please do as I'm interested in the gen 2 as well! Was there a price difference on it? What are the new changes?

The bracket on my gen 1 has a small fracture where it gets very thin, wondering if that was common and that's why they redesigned it? Actually the gen 2looks easier to install now too? Is the air intake still the same?

Thanks man! The kit is running strong. I just removed the S/C and such for some maintenance. Did valve cover gaskets, new alternator, spark plugs, new tensioner pulley, soon to do oil change and completing coolant flush this week. Everything is back together as well. The kit has held up well. I was daily driving it in downtown Chicago, Kennedy Expressway, Congress pkwy, and Lakeshore drive. Driving spirited of course...!

The only thing I did was change O2 sensors but I bought those from FCP Euro, so using the lifetime warranty for part exchanges with them.

Forgot to mention... I have also done the rod bearings with BE bearings and ARP rod bolts since then. I also picked up and installed a set of Ohlins R&T to balance the car out. Those are great as well
