M3 sedan is a great buy. With shorter rear overhang and a bit wider rear flares on the fenders, the M3 sedan looks more proportionate than the long-ish coupe.

You get all the performance of a 2-door (performance and handling is almost identical in coupe and sedan), but you also get two extra doors yet, it is cheaper than the coupe.

What else could you ask for?

I know I'm not alone on this now! Lol

C6 to M3

So now its between the obvious a cts-v or an m3 sedan... I really did like everything about my 135i and bmw in general so I am coming back to the dark side...

The big question I have is are there any ongoing major problems/issues similar to the HPFP I should be worried about on an e90 m3??
I moved from a 2008 LS3 powered 6 speed corvette to a 2011 M3 w/DCT.

I wanted a 4 door for the reasons you mentioned and an automatic because half the time I'm in a stop'n'go commute and the vette's clutch was driving me nuts.

As others have said, the M3 doesn't feel as strong as the LS3 corvette - no surprise there as it has less power, less torque, and weighs more than the vette. But it's cool to have an 8400 rpm redline on a V8 and the DCT is totally great - it's a robot controlled manual transmission from the future.

It's also a little harder to drive than the vette when you want to go fast because you need to keep it a gear lower than you would in the vette to get the same level of acceleration. For a pure sports car, the vette is a more interesting car, in my opinion.

But, if like me you need 4 doors and an automatic, I think there's only one choice and that's the M3. It's a much nicer car inside than either the C63 or the CTS-V, though probably not quite as fast in a straight line. And none of the others offers anything like the DCT.

Other than the inability to tint the windows without jumping through hoops and the atrocious mileage, even for a V8, it's hard to fault. It would be nice if it sat a little lower and had a bit more storage space, but those are minor nits at best.

I'd go with the Coupe because I think the styling is infinitely better.

But some don't agree. Some actually think the sedan looks more aggressive!

On my sedan, my rear doors won't open anymore...

why would there be any specific problems isolated to the sedan vs. in general all E9X M3s? Mechanically, the sedan is no different than the coupe, and if there are problems they would be shared throughout the entire lineup.

you have to ask yourself, do you need to drive other people around, if no, get the coupe. It's not rocket science here, but I'll let everyone in on a big secret, the biggest difference between the sedan and coupe are the 2 extra doors!

I've had no problems.

The M3 Sedan is my version of a perfect car.
Mine could only be better if it was already paid for.

The perception of quality materials is overwhelming in the M3.

My Dad's 07 C6 Z06 feels like a (very) fast tuna boat compared to the precision of the M3. If I had to choose only one it would be the M3 every time.

I have an 09 Sedan. Love it. I also checked out the C63 AMG. That car has a crappy command display, worse stereo, bad ipod integration (at least in 09), $4K optional limited slip ( are you f'in kidding? No LSD stock??), and in general not as nice interior.

It does have massive torque and HP. But, no stock LSD rear is a deal breaker.

As long as it has the M3 badge on the back, the sedan is good looking enough. That badge would signify my ultimate vehicle purchase.
