If weather is excellent, I'll do PR on the 20th. If its not good that day, I'm in for May 4th at the Ridge. It's gonna be one or the other for me though.

I disagree with your comments about CCA and PCA though. They are great and structured/safe driver education programs and therefore I try to support them.

Don't forget - most people start their driving careers with local chapters of BMW and Porsche car clubs. It's easy to shun these groups once you have just enough experience to run solo with other clubs, but let's not forget the time and effort volunteers are putting into *educating* you in the art and skill of high performance driving.

hmm.. sorry if I offended anyone with my comments on BMWCCA/PCA - I think came off a bit too severe. I don't really "hate" them, .. they're good groups, run by a great set of folks - I just think they're more expensive with less track time than other events such as hooked on and turn 2. But for folks looking for more structure and more instruction they're a perfect setup.

For those who haven't heard yet, PR has been repaved from T10 down to T1.. Picture courtesy of Tom Pritchett.. It'll be interesting transitioning over from the new surface to the old surface at T1 ..

Dunno... will find out on the 20th I guess. Tom said that there is a transition somewhere near T1.. but maybe they'll smooth it over .. haven't seen it so can't really comment..

looks like a lot but it isn't - I've never brought my canopy for instance.

you don't need to get everything. its up to you.

I get three boxes.. a small plastic box for fluids, a small ice box for drinks and a tool box for my tools...

you leave your stuff next to your chair in your "pit" area... there is a strong honor system at the track and I've never heard of anyone's valuables being picked up... I've noticed folks even leaving their laptops and cameras lying around with no issues but then again if I do get a valuable thingy (aka camera or laptop), I usually hide it out of sight in a box.

Thanks for the tips... Hopefully, we will bump into one another.

I'm thinking about doing the PCA/BMW track day at PIR on the 15th. PCA requires a tech inspection. Any suggestions from you guys on a competent shop in Portland or Beaverton that will perform the inspection?

He is a good guy. I attended a couple of his track days. He is the first one on my list. Since I'm running bit behind I was hoping to have a few shops to choose from in case Eddie is too busy. Thanks for the suggestion.
