Increased Battery Discharge

I've had this come up a handful of times when getting into the car.. Anyone know what could cause this?

You need a battery tender , think you don't drive it enough .
Same thing here , and that's why it's on my battery tender every single weekend for 24 hours .
It prolongs the livetime of the battery too .
Here is my CTEK in action #26 on this page=> http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...1#post15488771

Its my daily driver, this has just happened a couple of times over the last week or so now.

I took it from Burswood to Mosman which took about 45 mins earlier, turned it off for around 5 mins and when I started it up again the warning popped up.

Mine was doing this and even after a charge still came back. Decided to go a new battery as it's still on the original. Have a varta g14 ready to go in. I bought online for 395 delivered and decided to get the Bmwhat app and adapter to register it to the car. Will let you know how I go with it this week.

I was getting this a bunch of times over a few weeks, I finally got sick of it and got the battery replaced by Alister at Bromspec Brookvale.
Cost me about $275 including coding which is damn shot cheaper than the $750 stealerships charge.

I think you have also a battery tender ?
Battery tenders prolong the lifetime of our battery .
Just like I said above in # 2 .

Yes, Philippe, but I haven't used it for the last six months or so. In the past I used to and keep charging and keeping it at optimum. You're right, that me have prolonged the life.

I'm charging every single weekend and I let it charge for about 24/Hours overnight ,because my car is not my DD .
It keeps my battery in top condition .

Mine use to be a weekend car, but not any more, and is driven more on a daily basis. I know when the battery needs charging, the ipod drops off intermittently.

Daily driven is lots better for the S65 .
Summer is on front door in Belgium , so I will drive the car more frequent .
Sadly it's not for next week , because the Belgian weather forecast for next week is storm and rain , and will take her dry and clean in my garage .

Coincidence , because I just readed about your round trip .
600 km means "2 x" at the gas station !
My record is that it was empty after 240 km

No Philippe, that's what I said in that post, I had 61 litres when I started the trip, and when I got back, I still had 6 litres left. You know how I know, because I have the BMW connect drive app. I averaged 11.4L/100km, and this is after an average of 110km/h including some spirited driving, I cannot post the speed, when I did some overtaking. May I add I also used cruise control for the majority of the time. It is a holiday weekend here, and speed cameras and cops were everywhere. Since using M1 0w-40, my fuel consumption has dropped at least by 1.5-2 litres/100km. That's money in my pocket . If filled up again this morning. So before, with the 61 litres, I got a total of 639 km The last bit was city driving.

I've had a tender on the battery now for 60mins and it is now flashing full.. Surely if I'm getting the increased usage message each time I start then it would take longer than that to charge fully?

If your charger is a CTEK then use the battery recondition option or the option for a flat battery to revive it. Just charging will not do in your case. May be, it's time for a new battery.

you shouldnt need to do this for any car.

car should use little no no jibbies from the battery when parked up.

im planning on leaving mine parked for up to 3 and a half weeks at a time.
do not expect to have problems with the battery.

i have done this with many cars without problems
