*Price Drop* Brembo BBK, 380mm all around, Yellow, almost new rotors
UPDATE: Added Pics (finally sorry for the delay)! Includes new rear Ferodo Pads (~$190) and includes Goodridge braided stainless steel brake lines for all calipers (~$175). As you can see the sides, paint, colors and logos are in great condition. Some chips on the backs and some significant scratches on one front caliper on the top from small pebbles (it is the upper right one in the pic). These scratches/chips on the tops are natural and due to low clearance between wheel and caliper. 100% cosmetic and NOT VISIBLE on car. UPDATE: Now including new in box Ferodo rear brake pads, found them tucked away in a box. Around $190 new. These are the Brembo factory pads. As you know, around $8200 new!! For E90/E92 M3. All calipers, caliper paint and rotors in excellent condition, functionally and aesthetically. 6 piston front, 4 piston rear, 380mm rotors front and rear (must have 19" or 20" wheels). Almost new rotors and rotor fasteners which were $2700 new. Front pads have plenty left 1/2 to 2/3rds, rears are getting close to replacement time (great Ferodo rear pads will be about $190). First full price offer takes them but I'm in no rush to sell. Will probably take best offer after listing for some time. No fitment advice provided. Do your homework. I don't have any more good (clean!) pics now, brakes are still on my car (daily driver). The rotor hats are not rusty, they are anodized aluminum and as such do not rust. They all develop this same slightly brownish patina from heat over time. Please spare the low balls. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY, 92126, North San Diego

Sorry, fixed. The option in a web browser is only visible while editing, not while browsing. As I noted above, if you can find a way to take care of packing, shipping and associated costs, then yes, I will "ship". These things are massive and heavy.

Calipers have internal moving parts that if not inspected or serviced could be deadly. It is true that Brembo calipers are quality but they need to be serviced. They wear out like anything else and that’s why could buy spare ones at the dealer to replace your OEM ones. Service parts in a caliper are rubber dust boots, rubber seals, and the pistons, that because of heat and constant movement and pressure would wear out and cause pistons to seize. Sometimes if there are scratches in the piston walls, the whole caliper would need to be replaced.
If we ever did a track day, we should inspect the calipers and make sure the rubber boots are not damage. If the boots have any damage, have a certified professional service them for performance and safety. Good luck in your sale |

Thanks for the expertise, Debbie Downer.... After this please take it to PM.
I've actually done hydraulic disc brake design, engineering and testing as a professional engineer. Everything you are bringing up has such a very very low probability of occurence. Anything can happen in something as complex as a car and eventually all sorts of oddball and low probability events do occur. Then to really cause any danger one would have to experience multiple simultaneous failures (on multiple wheels). What is almost infinitely more likely, especially for track capable brakes on a street car, is a gradual and safe diminishing of performance. noise or noticeable seeping of fluid. Brakes are designed to be absolutely as safe and predictable as possible. I misspoke above a bit in that seals can and do wear out (obviously), but most often predictably as opposed to catastrophically. I also firmly disagree about the need for a professional brake inspection after a track day. Last but not least, a full caliper rebuild is both cheap and easy, even DIY. With that extra conservatism these brakes would be very darn close to brand new. Personally, I wouldn't bother. |
