Pentosin is a brand. It is perfectly to fine to use in the manual transmission as long as it is the correct fluid type.

Sorry, meant specifically the FFI4. FCP suggests it's compliant with older manuals. I'll have to do research. Any experience with this fluid for track focused use?

I talked to pentosin and they said it’s recommended for the manual too. They list it for the MT in their online catalogue

i have a 6spd manual and just ordered the fluid to change it this week. I ordered 83220309031 which as far as i am aware is the correct oem fluid for a e9x m3 6spd manual. I would definitely confirm that but that is what i have now and what i intend to replace it with. From what i understand it used to be MTF-LT-2 which has been retired and replaced with FFL-4 fluid. There are several forum posts about it. It is discussed near the end of this "6spd fuild change diy" thread.
