Question!!!!

How to you take a completely decentralized BMW ///M club from awesome to "That is a group I want to join"? All ideas welcomed.

awesome

That's kind of a tough question seeing how spread out everyone is.

I thought about this a couple weeks ago and I think having "regional" quarterly car meets would help.

Keep the driving distance no farther than an hour to 1.5 hours. That way more people may be tempted to attend.

You could make events like these open to the public and invite other sports cars/enthusiast and have M flight as the host.

This could serve as sort of a open house.

You could invite vendors/ dealers to display cool products etc.

Of course all this depends on how active current members are and willing to help.

awesome

Of course you could try to get recognized by BMW USA or AG!!

One of the downsides to the club is that a lot of the American members are always on rotation due to PCS. Of course there are obvious benefits to this.

I think if there were more permanent active members in different regions around the world then they could host welcome parties/meets to orient new members to the club.

I know when I first joined I was totally lost. It would've been cool to have a member to welcome me in and point me in the right direction. I love FB just as much as the next person, but meeting someone face to face can't be beat.

I know everything I'm pitching is kind of out there, takes coordinating, resourcing and time, so let me know if you need any help.

All great ideas.Your last sentence summed it up. Members that are willing to spend time are spread so thin. These events take time to plan. As for sponsors and supporters we are doing OK. Being sponsored by BMW is on a completely different level. Hopefully we can talk on Sat. Thank you for stepping up.

I'm at 76XXX+ km and haven't changed mounts yet. My ride is 2011 ZCP. I am going through throttle actuator replacement due to failing sensor. It started last week above 90kph. Console showing DCS & ABS malfunction. Will replace both with the help of our ///MFlight mechanic of the North. Should find out the cost today.

I hope everything works out for you. I am getting my car serviced today: oil, filter, differential fluid, brake fluid, and service check.

They actually tried telling me I needed spark plugs but luckily I was able to show them they were replaced at 28,XXX miles I'm at 46,XXX right now and I don't really drive that much to replace them so fast.

My next oil change I will change them but I am buying all of my OE parts online. I paid 120 euro for 9 liters of 10w60 Castrol and Euler wants 29,95 a liter for the shell twin power stuff.

Oh yeah one thing that would be really cool would be to have a MFlight forum! That would be a lot of work!

We have our own Regional page within M3 Post but it's more than enough working populating this forum. You, if you volunteer your time, I'm sure we can find something to do.
