Dealership Damage
Well I am furious right now at our local dealership in Schaumburg, IL and need some advice!!! I took our car in for its 1200 mile service yesterday. After leaving the car at the dealership for the whole day I picked it up around 5:30. My wife and I went to dinner right after that and when I went to open the door for her I noticed the right rear rim was curbed bad!!!!! Someone at the dealership smacked something with the tire and ground down the rim. We went back to the dealership and talked to my sales guy who gave me the managers number who has not called me back. I don't really know where to take it from here but its absolutely ridiculous that you can't even leave your car with a dealership for a simple service without it being damaged!!

I have a meeting with them in the morning. I took it back immediately after I saw the damage and showed it to the sales manager because service was closed. I guess I should have known better and walked around the car before I left the shop. Its just sad that they dont give a s*** about a 70k car.

Well they are going to replace/repair the rim but I am out the car for the next four days. Supposedly they don't have any loaners available. Talk about BS.

Tell them to call you when the new rim gets in stock and that you'll bring it in to be changed. its their mistake, they should be inconvenienced, not you.

For sure! They do this loaner stuff all the time. At least they are going to take care of it. Still frustrating though. Glad it worked out for you buddy!

Well the saga continues. After being told that the car would be back in three days, it got extended another week and was supposed to be done that friday. On that friday they informed me it would be this last friday. On Friday I called and asked where the rim was. They informed me it would be in yesterday. When I called the yesterday they informed me it would be in this friday. That would be a total of three weeks for a wheel refinish? I thought that was pretty BS and called to talk to the owner of Patrick BMW. After speaking with his assistant she told me they would call me before the end of business. When she called me back she said I had a loaner and that I would have to wait until Friday. I simply told her that was not going to work and she abruptly cut me off and started to yell that I could not speak to the owner and would have to talk to the head of all their service departments first. After speaking with him about the situation he informed me that no matter what I will have the car today and the length of time is unacceptable. He promised to bring the car out to me so we will see what happens today.
If you want ANY customer service and your car taken care of DO NOT take it to Patrick BMW in Schaumburg!!!!!! |

Raw deal Mystic. I never really liked the sales rep quality there anyway. I've been working with Laurel BMW in Westmont and they recently received some high quality award. I know where I'll (soon) be taking my car for service.
