Running carbon fiber DS on my e92 M3, the biggest difference is the 1 piece vs the OEM 2 piece. Removes almost all of the drivetrain lash/clunk

Got it from DSS the day they put it out, would of been easy install if they would of sent me the right parts the first.. or second time. Does seem to launch a little better, more like a band feeling instead of a sudden jerk.
Main reason I got it was to see if would decrease whine from solid rear diff mounts, did nothing on that end. But biggest thing was the removal of drive train clunk, especially easing out in first gear. You can twist the OEM shaft with your hands and it will clunk a good bit.

Well true for most trannys, this car many times comes with a 2nd that fights you. Changing knobs and trans fluid to a different brand made mine decent. Only gripe iv ever had with this car, got to gently coax 2nd.

Only bummer about the Fall Line shaft is the report of diff whine from the person who ran it with poly diff bushings before switching back to OEM rubber. Was that you, Ashtaron?
Not sure I'd want to give up more solid diff mounts for sake of the driveshaft. |

It's a 6mt, very happy with the Fall Line driveshaft. Your review was spot on i end up keeping the TMS differential bushings and didn't go back to oem cause after driving around 350-400 miles the differential whine was pretty much back to normal like before just a tad louder.

There will be NVH increase as speed rise for the Shaft, whereas for the diff bushing is RPM based.

I have subframe and delrin diff bushings will the shaft add extra noise or does it vibrate the car?

Hmm your saying thats something the CF shafts just do? I was about to turn mine because I thought it was slightly off balance as I start to get some vibrations/and hum over 100MPH. Running solid rear diff mounts and race engine mounts, only did this after CF drive shaft.

My installer had done JDM CF DS installations on Skylines R33/R34. According to him they all do the same thing, and with our cars it's already less violent. You should be able to feel an unbalanced shaft sooner than over 100mph.

I'm guessing the vibrations are because, instead of being taken up by the slop in the OEM shaft, the driveline vibrations are now being translated into the differential mounts and the subframe. If you have solid mounts, it would make it even more pronounced.
But that's just my lay suspicion. |

I know on mine they are glued onto the outside of the shaft at proper points. Look like washers, can see it in this pic.

It is a one piece. Stock is 2 piece. 1 piece more likely to add vibration. Particularly with stiffer bushings.
BMW uses 1 piece CF on new M3, but I think they retained the rubber guibo at the trans. DSS does not, don't know about Fall Line. |

For the Fall-Line CF Shaft, the weights are attached by rivets, and there are some drilled holes in the adaptor plate (perhaps for balancing).
