Received our built 4.5 low compression engine from David and the team at Carbahn Autoworks. This S65 will be receiving a ESS supercharger ontop.
Great experience working with Carbahn ! Pics to come in a new post once installation begins ! Thanks David ! |

Any warrantee? And if so if something (god forbid) goes south who's responsible? ESS? Carbahn? Tuner? This always seemed a problem with me. If the build has input from different entities who takes responsibility for the outcome? |

Warranty on a supercharged stroker? I don't know Carbahn's official stance on such a build but traditionally when pushing the capability of a platform the owner foots the bill regardless of outcome. Not fair to hold any one entity financially responsible when you find the limit during your experimentation. If Carbahn (or whoever) were to develop their own 700hp all inclusive system then there may be an option of a warranty since every aspect would be under their control but even then it's unlikely due to the potential for abuse.

That's why I have an all inclusive system. I agree that once handed over to me I'm on my own. But if something breaks during the build I don't have to pay to get the finished product. |

I will speak for myself, but to justify a $20-30K engine build from a company that advertises experience in the racing world from 1979, it is only acceptable to provide a warranty on such a build. Engine builders love blaming the tuners for poor work, and vice versa. Thus, a combined hardware/software upgrade as a package would the ideal package. Sorry I am not willing to invest in such a thing without a warranty! |

Using the underlying Dinan tech here should give you great comfort. If it doesn’t then that’s more of an issue with your personal comfort level. Which is totally understandable. Everyone is different. |

Carbahn built this engine as many others for shops and race teams to the specifications given before the build began. They will warranty their work and parts installed. But if a client ruins their engine based on abusing the car, there will be evidence of such and of course no warranty at that point. |

Carbahn is not currently offering built turn-key packages yet. Emission's is something Carbahn wants to continue to focus on and if its not CARB legal, they wont offer it from my understanding. I will share more about this build as it progresses begins and is finished. This will be a solid build with the respected and trusted partners in our industry |

I owned an e92 m3 s3-R. I later took the 4.6L out of it, and put it into my 1series.
