When I said I didn't care for titanium, I'm implying that the nuts and bolts I chose are zero % titanium. They're all stainless steel with billet washers.

Looks great on your build! But the colored bolts would look off in my near-stock engine bay, I think. Also confirmed the 3x2 strut top nuts are unique and should not be replaced (Ti would be fine, but no way we find the same nut with those extra threads in Ti). So I will just get the others identified in the previous page. Waiting to hear back from Ti64 on one item before I place the order.

Any tips to "clean up" the strut bars and PS reservoir bracket washers? They are all fine just normal oxidation, thinking of a fine sand paper if a magic eraser does not do much.

Shouldn't you guys be doing the roof rack hardware in Ti too? Save some top weight and also the nuts for the window wipers, then leave the caps off so it looks cool.

^ Perhaps that's sarcasm, but this is really an aesthetic-and-I'm-bored "mod" rather than an actual exercise in weight loss.

Do you have any chart or info on all the sizes of bolts/screws you ordered?

Might not have been Ti, but will help others find the sizes of Ti bolts they are looking for.

Yeah you can't change the nuts on the actual strut towers. Sorry should have pre-warned you.

They have that recess thread along with them that you cannot see until you take one off.

However, in the mean time I will live vicariously through him.

Does this order look right?

It includes the 2 lower nuts for the PS reservoir, but there's a fat aluminum washer under them which may visibly hide the Ti.
I'd also like to add the 2x3 sleeved nuts on the strut mounts but cannot find those in Ti64.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=32_1736
PS: 1x M6 16mm, 2x M6 nuts

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=17_0432
Coolant: 2x M6 20mm

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=13_1243
Airbox: 2x M6 25mm

Strut bars are the M8 items, per @RoastBeef.
Just hit me, we are going to have to collectively get the torque specs for all this stuff.

FYI the torque specs for the strut tower stuff you ordered is 34nm. (Source so you don't think I am talking out my ass: http://billswebspace.com/335M3StrutB...stallation.htm)

^ Thanks! For the rest of my identified bolts I’m not too worried about torque specs, hand tight will be fine for things like PS/coolant/airbox mounts.

I just got a mini-kitchen scale, so when I attack my engine pay I will measure weight for every nut/bolt/screw to their Ti counterpart.

i've done a few things since this thread started. tapped the lower airbox and the karbonius airbox lid is now held in place by titanium bolts. the reservoir hardware is all Ti.
rear tow hook and crash bar hardware is Ti.

i currently have hardware in the mail to finish up the rear exhaust hangers.

You will need ballast soon to keep this car from blowing away in a stiff breeze.

Couple other cool bits. Some titanium springs (a little massaging needed to repurpose them for the windshield wipers, but they'll work). i picked up a spare wiper arm/motor assembly and i'm still mulling over how i'm going to optimize it. besides the obvious titanium hardware swap, there is some fat to trim. same with wiper arms- spare set in hand to play with. i know i could just remove the whole system, but what's the fun in that? i might also just run one wiper for the cool factor.

Also located some 100% titanium hose clamps for the throttle bodies.

She's never been on scales. Still have oem front seats and speakers, so it's not too crazy yet.

Assuming you'll eventually go with a carbon trunk & hood?
