WTB Melbourne E90

[nozzle]

Looking to buy a very specific Melbourne Red car.

Competition, slicktop, 6sp, black or cloth interior, E90.
"Stripper" spec is preferred, but the above is non negotiable.


The car must be located in the USA, other than that I do not care where the owner is located. The money is either spent on this specific car, or into other kinds of investments, but my clock is ticking.

I'm aware that I am likely asking for a 1/10 car and that my request is boarder-line ridiculous. I am willing to pay for the right car.

Don't think they made any E90's with a carbon fiber roof.... Aftermarket perhaps? Not from the factory.

There is a Melbourne over Bamboo slicktop on cargurus I think, last I looked anyway.

Yes I saw a Carbon Roof E92 Melbourne over Bamboo. But it has 92k miles. And only one picture at the moment. As far as E90, there were no carbon roofs made. Aftermarket options are available, and pricey for install.

Yeah, super pricey and personally don't see the value in it over a slicktop.

Honestly, it's more like a 1 in a 100 car most likely.

There were only 126 LCI MR E90's imported to North America, and LCI would include 2009 and 2010 cars, but you want the competition package, so that limits you to 2011 only. Then throw in 6MT (it's believed that 2/3 to 3/4 of E90 ZCP cars are DCT) + slicktop...

I wish you luck though, would be a sweet find!

1/100 would mean it’s more common than I had originally proposed, haha. I get what you mean though. Production numbers with this combination is likely less than 10, I agree.

1 in 10 is 10 times more than 1 in 100, therefore 1 in 100 is far less common (10 times less common in fact) than 1 in 10

The latter number refers to the amount of examples with the options I’m requesting. 1/10>1/100 yes. There are much less than 100 possible examples I’m looking for.

I was looking for exactly what you are looking for about 3-4 years ago. There are 2 I know of in existence. Both were far over my budget at the time and have not reappeared since. I ended up settling for a different car I love (all specs checked besides MR color). If I could buy one of the two today, I would.

The above spec you're looking for in a cloth interior is a 1/2 spec from my understanding. I happen to have one of them at 76k and another guy down in Georgia has the other one at just 30k.

Mine isn't currently for sale but shoot met a PM if you're serious!

Mines 1 of 2 with Black/Palladium interior. I don’t remember if it was here or Reddit but somebody kept a google spreadsheet of all the MR cars and owners usernames or IG

I had one of them, a 2011 comp, slick top, on black/red interior 6spd, she was crashed so that leaves 9 off the top.
