I have kept it down since. LOL

The main problem I have is that locking sensor not lining up. However, now it wants to catch a few times in the process of going up and down. It goes, but it catcese.
Hey Fellow TN E93! I am fairly new to the E93 as I have only had my car for about 8 months, but seeing the top go up and down and how much is involved, I did not hesitate one moment when I stumbled on a manual for the operation of the top. It's a detailed PDF with schematics and wiring diagrams. I thought it would come handy someday. Haven't needed it myself (yet). *Knock on wood* PM me your email and I can send it to you.

Checking in from Sacramento, CA with a couple convertible-specific questions. I just joined the E93 crowd a few weeks ago and appreciate the assistance.

1. Is it better to have the car in the garage with the top up and put it down when driving (about every other day) or store it top down and covered? Top down would mean the top would stay down for an extended period, perhaps it would have to be put up every so often then?
2. Is there any recommended home maintenance/lube/greasing of the top joints or mechanisms?

Thank you for the information!

Did some more research over the last day and a half

1. There doesn't seem to be a disadvantage to store in the garage with the top down. I'll probably store it top down and covered in the garage when I'll be driving a lot and top up when she sits a lot.

2. I found this great posting explaining how to maintain the seals and joints of the origami hardtop. https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=609222#/topics/609222

Welcome to the E93 club! I have been using Gummi Pflege and lithium grease, but found a lot of good info in the link you posted, thanks for sharing that.

I only put the top up if it's raining or below 50 degrees. She's just so much sexier with her top off. And as another owner of fox red, I know you agree.

I definitely agree! The Fox Red was a big selling point, but not the extended red which is a bit too much for me. I also think the E93 and earlier models are the best looking 4 seat convertibles around.

Right?! I wanted space grey/fox red 6MT and got lucky and found one an hour away. Nothing like a sunny day hearing that induction/exhaust combo.

New to me E93! Currently also own an F10 535i but plan on selling it soon to make this my DD, I am moving very close to the office and I expect to also be working from home much more often moving forward, so I simply wont be driving as much. It was nice having 4 doors and a huge trunk for the past 2 years, but coming from a 370z, I really missed being in a coupe. Previous owner put ZCP wheels on but otherwise she's completely stock (for now)!

Love this thread with all these gorgeous verts!! Owned many E46 M3 verts, but actively looking to get an E93 M3. Something about that glorious V8 blasting with the top down is a great driving experience!

My 2011 Le Mans Blues with Platinum extended leather. Only 27k KMs on it so far. Debating whether to keep it or sell it since I don't drive it much. Does anyone else have this color combo on here?
