Ha...just two days. I drove 2 of them bank to back. Both Ms were very clean 2 owner, no body work, no accidents, solid maintenance cars.

I spoke to the PO of the car I purchased. He's a mid 50s muscle car collector and this was his wife's car since 13k miles. He purchased the extended service contract so all maintenance was performed by BMW. The PPI from a respected shop that specialized in BMWs came back with flying colors. It was priced very aggressively, lowest in the US. As a bonus the car was never driven in the winter.

I couldn't pass it up.

The one thing I did notice with this car (DCT) vs. the other one I drove was when letting off the throttle in gears 1-5 manual mode it slows down very quickly. Just as quick if not quicker than the 335d (high compression) that I owned. Is that normal for these cars?
Mine certainly has quite a bit of engine braking.

Normal, it's engine breaking.

It's stiffy, if you just picked up a used set, i would rebuild. But what is your purpose? Did you get it to go lower and put on aggressive fitment wheels? You'll have fun doing that, you'll get to play with camber, height adjustment, and damping. Depending on the month, you'll switch it up again. (more time and money will be invested). You track? lots of guys get it for that hobby too.

I don't want to go back to coil over setup ever again, those days are over for me. I'm old and done with that life.

If i wanted to go lower I would pick up the Bilstein B12 Pro Kit. Lowers it about half an inch or more. It will save a lip and you can go over speed bumps, up driveways without destroying your bumper.

I'm on stock suspension.

some very interesting points. I actually replaced the v3 set with b12 pro kit. Now the v3 is spare

adjustability wise, V3 can actually go pretty high if the collars got moved all the way up.

I did plan to go tracking, but probably a few runs each summer.

Should be getting new tires on Monday so I started getting ready for daily driving. Put some Leatherique on the seats yesterday and started to black out the chrome window trim. Today I'll take off the Leatherique and finish the window trim chrome blackout.

Wow, 593 pages strong and still going. I washed mine up yesterday, after a long period of neglect, then went out and drove a little “spirited” this morning. It felt great! I swear, clean cars drive better, but the e92 M3? Wow! So much fun in the twisties!

I also have just the plenum and everything else stock and it sounds awesome at wide open throttle. Maybe best with windows up.

I wonder at this point if the CF airbox lid would add much to the audio experience?

NOTHING was open near me, so I for the first time pulled out that BMW tire inflator in the trunk, damn that thing is legit... never knew it was there. Was able to pump up it up, and fly 20 miles to another city with a discount tire. Got a plug, but found out the rears are toast (PS 3 a/s).. they offered me a deal on two new P4Ss on the rear for $250 each..idk why. Since my fronts are fine for now, would it be dumb to have 4S on rear, and PS 3 A/S on front until they go out? probably a dumb question, I know nothing about tires
Summer in back and all season in front isn't ideal at all
Yeah I'm going to cancel this shit, the guy was totally lying to me about shit then, but at the time, I was fine with it since I was getting a free tire repair and needed to leave the area before it got crazy. But tire sales people are worse than car salesmen....

He was totally making shit up.. and I knew it, but didn't call it out.

What he literally told me was: "They are discontinuing the PS AS3+ and have replaced it with the PS 4S." I said really, I thought that was a summer tire, and he said "they are the same but this is newer" I then asked how much, he said $875 for 2 rear. Then, I said can I get a price on the AS3+, since they aren't discontinued yet, he said oh those are $550 installed. I said I'll do that so I have the same tires since my fronts are good. He walked back to the manager, came back and said, well how about the PS4S for $550 installed and warranty.

WTF is this shit?
Just park out front and tell everyone walking in what's up. That's some shady bait and switch BS. I got 4 AS3+ installed by the DEALERSHIP for $1100

With regards to safe driving. The grip profiles are quite different, but not catastrophically so. Commuting isn't gonna kill you, but the wrong push during some spirited throttle time could put you in a pickle.

Good luck getting some "pay back" on the tire thieves.
