Previous Owner Colgone Bombed the Interior

Hi Guys,
So I recently took delivery of a used 2011 E90 M3 with the base cloth interior. It appears the previous owner must have cologne bombed the entire car and it is quite overwhelming. The smell is amplified even more so once I turn on the heat or AC system. It literally gives me a headache sitting in the car.

Plan of Action:
-Vacuum interior
-Clean hard surfaces with interior cleaner
-Shampoo seats, carpets and headliner with fabric cleaner
-Replace in cabin air filter
-Spray some sort of odor neutralizer into HVAC system's exterior air intake

Am I missing anything in here with the action plan? Can anyone recommend products to use for the speed cloth seats, carpets and anthracite headliner? Odor neutralizer for the HVAC air intake?

Thanks in advance!

Don't forget to check for molds, etc. previous owner might have been trying to hide something.

This along with 1Z's Deep Plastic cleaner, on all the plastics. This stuff even removed cigarette stuff and you can extract the carpet with it as well. I've used it on anything but leather.

A few more products to consider.

The cologne smell should dissipate. Hopefully it isn't covering up a smoking smell or something.

You could always get an ozone treatment to neutralize odors in the car.

Shit Bro, I did the same thing. I clicked your link, but it kept redirecting to:

https://www.detailersdomain.com/mobile/home.asp?#home

so I couldn't tell what product you were explaining.

+1, bring it to a specialist who can clean the car thoroughly and get to the bottom of how the smell is lingering in the car. Your method sounds like it might adversely affect the upholstery and other parts of the car if over done.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. I reached out to a mobile detailer to see what their prices look like. I think after you factor in all the equipment and material costs it adds up to be very close to having it professionally done. Might have to leave it to the pros for this one!

Hey Guys, a quick update. I spent Sunday afternoon doing a full interior detail myself.

What I did:
-Full dry vacuum using a handheld MetroVac
-Full seat and carpet shampoo using Adam's interior carpet cleaner.
-1Z Einszett Cockpit Cleaner on all plastic surfaces
-1Z Einszett Cleaner ETU HVAC treatment
-Zymol Leather Cleaner on steering wheel and seat bolsters
-Zymol Leather Conditioner on steering wheel and seat bolsters
-Stoner Invisible Glass Cleaner on all windows

The odor is 95% gone and the car smells great! Thanks for all the hep
