Hi Duck,

as per your request here's a few images for you. If you can send me a high res side on image of the car it will make things a lot easier and i should be able to photoshop any wheels you want to see onto them. The wheel images tend to lose a bit of detail when you start manipulating them to work with angles.

Thanks a lot for the test shots. Yeah I agree, the angles tend to be tough. I shot over a couple straight on side shots to test out. Unfortunately, when I took the best photos I have to date, it was overcast on those days.

So far those LM's are looking pretty tasty. Am curious to see what the Diamond Black finish looks like. Also curious what a full gunmetal LM version would look like (including the lip).

Gunmetal is looking great on this car. Silver is a firm second. Not sold on black yet. The more Limerock Edition M3's I see with the black wheels the more I'm not liking the contrast. Not sure why.

How about these, some are better than others in terms of my photoshop work. The random wheels thrown in are 6Sixty Design Emblem which is a wheel company owned by a friend of mine.

Awesome work. Thank you so much!!!!

Impressions so far. I do like the last one with the orange accent. I just can't get myself to like black though. I like the all grey, though. Something with the diamond black centers of the LM's is throwing off the contrast so it seems like I'd either go all silver or all grey/gunmetal/anthracite. This is kind of making me feel like i don't want a wheel with a lip now. Those Enkei's are surprisingly sharp though. Doesn't look crazy aggressive, doesn't look tame. Maybe a tad too many spokes?

Can we try one more? How about grey Interad DTM-10 19" wheels? Here's what they look like:

no problem, i'll give it a go after work. The 6sixty wheels are built to spec so pretty much available in any color you want. The example i included are currently on an m2 (google Starla m2 to see it).

I own 5 sets of gunmetal wheels and my car's not even orange. I also approve of gunmetal/gray. With that hurdle overcome, you may now proceed to buy wheels.

They do. Thanks again for doing this. Sometimes I see this wheel without rivers. Other times with. I definitely like them without. I may find a couple other wheels with 8 and 12 spokes. I'm liking the spoke designs.

My initial thoughts are that the silver comps are too tame. Then I also feel black loses the detail of the wheel. Then I wonder if it's just the style I'm struggling with and black or silver would be fine. Or is the balance gunmetal? :

In any case, would love to get your guys thoughts.
In terms of aesthetics, the correct answer is Forgestar F14 SDC in gloss gunmetal or semi-gloss (satin) gunmetal. This is the only wheel design that holds a candle to the OEM 359s on this platform in my opinion. And as you've already concluded yourself, gunmetal is always the way to go over black.

What wheels are they?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out; Enkei RS05RR.

What size and offset? That would make for a killer square setup.

I don't disagree with you in terms of aesthetics. Great looking wheel. But it feels very much like the M359 in that you see it everywhere. Just need something fresh. But I do believe the answer is gunmetal.

Style is still being researched. Spoke designs are catching my eye, though.

You found it. Definitely 19". I haven't thought through offsets yet, but am going to try and go as concave as I can get with them without going too nuts.

I still want to search for some gunmetal wheels that have 8 and 12 spokes to see how they compare to the Enkei's and the Interad's.

Alright, can we try a few more? e28bmw would you be so kind whenever you get a free moment? I'm still looking for a straight 12 spoke.

Let's just take a look at the F14 SDC's and see what happens.

I think these are Euro only, but would still like to see it with the 8 spokes. These are Z Performance ZP.08 wheels.

Maybe Advan RS wheels? I'm not sure I like the curve of the spokes, but they look good at certain angles.

Do you really see them everywhere in Ohio? I live in WI and aftermarket rims in general are a rare sight. They are relatively common here on the forums (for good reason) but that doesn't mean you'll see them everywhere. They're nowhere near as common as the ubiquitous Apex wheels everyone runs on every model BMW or the tremendously played out TE37s that everyone runs on every platform. Furthermore, not everyone who has F14s gets it right by running SDC all around. I would argue that custom F14 SDCs would be a unique set of wheels, particularly with your Fire Orange paint.

I may have missed it, but I only see where that wheel is offered with an 18" diameter. My comment about size was directed towards width.

Not to derail, but I really do like those wheels personally. Wouldn't be a bad pickup for an additional set in 18" and hang on to my 19" 359s.

You're probably right. No, I don't see them around here at all. It's just that I see them on the forum everywhere. But it's still kind of the same mentality. People see something overdone and it's played out....kind of like what you think with the TE37's. I don't quite think it's a unique set of wheels, but I do agree that it could work very well with the Fire Orange.

Did you see the photoshop? I think it would be more gunmetal in person.
