HELP-Question for those that had faulty FRM modules

Hi there,
While doing some work at an Indy shop, they mentioned my FRM module is defective and covered under the 10 yr extended warranty on FRM module.

My Question: If I bring it to the dealer and have them run diagnositics, will they be able to determine if the FRM is faulty? A BMW tech mentioned it may not come up as a failure. Just want to be sure im not wasting $150 diagnostic fee for them to say its fine and they wont warranty it.

When your windows mirrors lights don’t work and it says vehicle lighting malfunction they will replace it.

normally you will get several malfuntion warnings that are associated with faulty FRM. ie: lighting system malfunction. keep in mind not every car has FRM warranty extension, check with your dealer to confirm

Thanks guys. So I do not have any issues currently but I know for sure the FRM is faulty. Dealer says it is covered BUT if nothing is broken, it wont be approved for warranty replacement.

Its just bugging me that its defective. I have some plans for the car with my Carly app

That doesn't sound like faulty FRM. If you FRM is broken, lots of stuff won't work. Windows won't roll up or down, turn signals don't work, etc. Not sure what this is. I would check the connections, make sure the wiring harness and wires are not damaged in any way.
