I have never owned a Mercedes but I am just wondering if they have such a huge loyal base as this. Do they have like a hotly debated best AMG C Class ever type of thing going on over there? The AMG C class that came out with the M3 CSL shown here, is that even still relevant today? I know the E46 M3 is still relevant but just wondering if Mercedes has something similar going on for them?

As for Mercedes having a similar car, they had the CLK Black during that time period, although the CLK was placed a little bit higher than the 3er coupe. So naturally, the performance variants had a similar position difference. Last edited by bimmerjph; 06-08-2013 at 10:02 PM.. |

If the CSL was available in the states, I'd do the exact same thing. Being able to keep one stored and just stare at it and have another to drive..that would be perfect! All time favorite M3. |

lol @ "forward thinking by means of weight reduction".....then fast-forward a decade later: all the cars are getting heavier and heavier, trying to put in larger motors to compensate for the heft.

I've only been mad at BMW twice. Currently the direction of the brand rubs me the wrong way but I understand why. The other time was not bringing the CSL stateside. At least we got the Comp in 2005 which was/is a great car too.
