Most powerful/free flowing exhaust you can find. Made by the E9X master himself, and only a handful of these pieces around.

Selling my car and will likely be going a different route for exhaust. Akra rear section (e90, CF tips) is also available. Feel free to shoot any questions. Won't have current pictures until I remove from the car, so I added some from the PO.

Here's a few threads about the exhaust:

5k for an xpipe?

Full exhaust system and I'd be all over it

It also adds about 40 foot pounds in the midrange. If your car is raspy that's an akra problem, not a mid section problem.

There are certain M3's out there that have little detail mods here and there that make them a cut above the rest. This is one of those detail mods.

The Dinan adds plenty. Rasp is from a lack of resonators. Pair any muffler here and the outcome will be the same. My Harrop stage 2 adds more torque than any x pipe can/will anyway. 🦍💨

Bottom line is 5k for a mid pipe is just ridiculous! Being out of production doesn't add value. Just ask Pontiac, Daewoo, Saab, Saturn etc. ☺️

If I didn't just blow most of my load on some doors, a diff, and suspension, I'd be working on obtaining this xpipe.

While Malek and MRF are great and this was a good pipe early on, I'm hard pressed to believe it would flow better than say the BW forward merged pipe which is 1/5th the price. Lets not get into AR headers...

This a piece for those that like paying for the name.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay and it looks like it's not worth anywhere near that. Op might find that special someone though.

Well, for starters the X is not as harsh of an angle…so that would be one reason the MRF pipe might flow better. Second, I've lined up with a BW equipped/tuned car (track) and had car lengths on him by the top of fourth.

Headers are another story.

I was like you guys, completely in denial. Bolt on performance upgrades are tough for these cars. After an exhaust, tune, and some bolt ons, you really start to see diminishing returns. However, after doing my research and also hearing Malek's car in person, I needed this piece.

Since installing it, I couldn't tell you how many "that's the perfect tone" compliments I've gotten. It's felt like the special ingredient that the car was missing the first year I had it (MS X pipe then.) I've never come across another m3, besides other MRF-equipped cars, that have the same high pitched howl from 4500rpm and up. Additionally, the scavenging sound after lifting off is completely demonic.

If you're located in Los Angeles come by and check it out yourself

I don't want to hype up the X-Pipe anymore than it is, but OP is right about the x-pipe having a vital role in creating the perfect tone and performance gains.

Here are a few things I realized when I looked at the way the MRF X-Pipe is designed. The primary position where the test pipes are usually positioned is a much longer length, than other designs where other x-pipes tend to make the turn early for clearance sakes.

Second of all, the merge for the X is 4 pipes hollowed out to make 1 big X merge, unlike the usual Gintani style that two pipes are bent in a slight U shape and hollowed out in the middle to make a oval hole. The way the MRF X-pipe is welded for the X merge it looks like the X merge can fit a small rectangle/square.

Third, if you notice, the X merge from top to bottom has an equal length and angle. Where it enters from the beginning of the X, it ends in the same length to where the lower portion of the end pipes is welded on.

Fourth of you noticed, there are many angles to the x-pipe. It's not rounded/bent like most other styles forward X-pipe.

I've experimented and also created many X-pipes for this car and I can say that MRF definitely put a lot of time into perfecting something like this. The bimmerworld x-pipe is assembled with catalog Magnaflow parts, so I can see the value in a well thought-over x-pipe from MRF.

Is it worth $5000? Now that's really up to the buyer. Rare discontinued parts usually fetch good money for this aged platform.

If these were so great, how come MRF stopped production and is there any chance they would consider making them again if there was enough interest? After OP sells this for $5k of course!
