My comment above was related specifically to buschy's dealer, Autobahn in Ft. Worth, which is also where I got my M3 (it is a great dealer, by the way). Most of their inventory is the basic colors and black interiors. I've actually seen some of the Houston dealers step out and order blue exteriors, red interiors, etc., so I wouldn't be surprised if Advantage did that with yours.
Thanks for the tip on the window sticker. I'm looking at it right now and yeah, it was sold to Advantage and shipped to midtown so it is no swap.

I wish I could see the date it arrived at the dealership. Build on the door is 11/09. What is the normal time it hits the dealer after that build date? I'm thinking it got there in January.

It's mind boggling that dealer won't order fox red for inventory. I actually felt some pressure to hurry and buy it before somebody else did. Maybe it did sit there for 3 months.

Most M3 buyers I would think would order to their liking instead of doing what I did. In fact, that is why I was there to look at the 18" rims on another one they had in stock, because I planned to order one later this year for my xmas present and I was undecided on the rims. Xmas came early this year, because I flipped when I saw that car.

I'm actually home today because my daughter is sick, and she is with me instead of my ex this week. It's sitting in the garage right now and I can't go drive it. It's like being at a topless bar.

No prob. Also, if you look at the bottom left corner of your window sticker, you should see the date that the sticker was printed. I'm about 99% sure that the stickers are printed at the VPC (in the U.S.), so that should be about a week or two before your dealer gets the car. I'm guessing yours was late December or early January date on the sticker. For comparison: my car is 7/09 build, the date on the sticker is 8/18/09, and I took delivery of the car on 9/26 after it had been at the dealer 2-3 weeks. I also didn't order...found one on the lot (luckily a "fresh" car that hadn't been there long) in order to get the 0.9% that was offered late last year.

Jerez is nice. The suspense is killing us so make a decision tomorrow.

I noticed they put the car in their inventory, so there are their "standard" pics of it on their website now also. www.shopautobahnbmw.com Buschy, this is probably not news to you...

i'm thinking more like 2 or 3 at the latest. he's already tearing it down and most everything is bolt-on. there's a few polish or paint parts under the hood that might take a week or two. getting jet coating, etc.
