Cheapest Throttle Value Actuators

Looking to replace both sets of actuators for my m3, looking at $1400 cad each. So I'm thinking I could save money getting them from the states, where did you guys get yours and how much was it?

There may be cheaper, but I like buying from http://thebmwminipartstore.com.

Actuators there are $880 US each, about $1150 CAD.

BMW of Morristown.
They have reasonable parts pricing sometimes. I bought actuators from them last year.

If they're on their way out and haven't completely failed yet, then I will stalk the Classified on here. Once in a while someone will sell a brand new one here for cheap'ish ($700-800 per actuator).

I personally bought both of them from Ebay too (IIRC) and they were around $850usd/actuator with free shipping. I frequently purchase items from the US so i already have a healthy balance of $US in my bank account (i stocked up quite a bit during parity) so i basically got them for "cheap".

With the HORRENDOUS exchange now, and most US Based Stealership Online parts store selling at around $900+ and shipping cost, you aint really getting that good of a deal. Also, please consider that there is a HIGH chance that you will end up paying taxes when you bring it into Canada as they are quite pricey. What's worst, is if they decide to charge you Duty on top (because part is not build in NAFTA) which will bring totaling taxes (PST, GST, and Duty) to something like 18%+. By that point, you really have to consider just simply buying from our own Stealerships here.

[$900USD x 2 x 1.32 (conversion)] x 1.18 (taxes + duty) = $2803.68 which is exactly what you will be paying at Canadian Stealer. Also the sad part? If you buy from the US the part will be VOID of warranty... which is also a bummer if you do get a bad/defective part...

If i were in your situation, wait and hunt for deals on Ebay or here. Don't waste time buying used ones because they almost always fails. If you in urgent need, then simply go to the stealerships here and buy the part and take it to a reputable Indy to save yourself on some labour. Shoot me a PM, my Indy in Burnaby did mine for something around $200-300ish a year ago (dont quote me on it though if he decides to change pricing, call first and ask).

Hope you get yours replaced soon! Cheers!

Why hasn't someone come up with a fix for this? Like just swapping the gears to brass units or something? At least look into just replacing the plastic gears, that's what goes bad. Probably would run less than $100 for both gears.

Someone should contact this place and see how much to repair or get the parts to repair.

This may also help. They have the upgraded gear fix.
