I did preventative maintenance by changing fluid at 150,000km and now I have slipping when hot and high torque/low-rpm. Second fluid service, first was done at half mileage by warranty but without changing filters. This time I took out the gross filters.

I do track the car, and I used to run gts tune ages ago. I did full recalibration in ISTA and paid dealer to inspect everything.

Currently I’m running fluid dealership sells. No issues at high rpm and no issues until engine hot.

Thanks!

Sounds like the clutch packs need replacing.

Did you only start to notice the issue after the fluid was changed? If so, are you certain the BMW procedure was followed to ensure all of the needed fluid was added? It is easy to miss as it is not intuitive. Even YouTube pros not familiar with BMW miss it as seen in this recent Speed Academy video here.

Check out this thread here for the fluid topping off procedure if you aren't familiar with it.

ISTA calibration would usually fail if there was a hardware issue.

Thanks guys, yes it started on refill even though I insisted the Indy shop do the ista procedure while filling. But I think they didn’t do it properly as I was watching it and they didn’t know what they were doing. I ended up paying BMW a lot of money to top up the fluid and do the procedure, they said clutches are toast. Then I kept driving and now the issue is gone. Honestly I think good help is hard to find with these DCTs.

I really hope your DCT gearbox got the original DCT Pentosin => https://www.bimmerworld.com/Fluids/D...220440214.html

Glad to hear it was the cheapest fix.

I don’t think the bottles looked exactly like that but I bought it from the dealer. 🤔

Dealer will have the OEM BMW logo on the DCT fluid manufactured by Pentosin to BMW specs. The Pentosin OE version is identical to the BMW OEM DCT fluid except at 1/3 the price.

FYI, Redline DCT fluid is also an exceptional option with the same or better performance than BMW/Pentosin DCT fluid
