Cracked Windshield

Getting ready to start the season and taking advantage of a nice 65 degree day and have stumbled onto this nastiness. Any thoughts as to whether this is bad enough to necessitate getting replaced before my first event?

Sorta hard to tell but it's shaped like an "x" and is in the bottom corner of the passenger side.

Just replace it; those cracks will just continue as the car flexes and twists. Your insurance (comprehensive), will cover most of it.

Thanks. This is a track only car so I'll be covering it myself. More just curious if it's a "do it now" because I won't be let on the track, or a "it can wait" because it's on the passenger side.

You might not pass tech inspection with that. I would get it fixed ASAP.

Might also be time to consider tear-offs or other clear bra-like products to add some extra protection.

Thanks! Set for replacement next weekend. Would love more info on the tear off thing.

3 of the more up and up tracks I race at would 100% fail you for a crack that size during tech inspection.

Glad you're having it replaced and like most said, comprehensive coverage should take care of this for a small fee.

Dparm is right - that will flag you in most competent Tech lines. Its just going to get worse in any case.
