ABS / DSC light on
Had my car for about 3 weeks now. Drive it fairly soft most days. But I've definitely tested out its full potential too. Whilst having a little "play" on some slidey cobbles today, nothing too punishing at all and suddenly the ABS / DSC warning lights have come on. Seems very coincidental that now a sensor has failed? Any thoughts? Hopefully overnight she'll fix herself?
Otherwise I'll get it code read next week. But in 2 days I'm due to have a small track day. She currently won't let me disabled traction control, where is the fuse kept so I can do this myself? |

try resetting the steering angle sensor. you will need software (or a shop) to do this. i use tool32, personally.

After a search on this forum and google, YouTube. Seems to be a fairly common BMW problem. Can be fixed. However, I really don't have time or tools. I'll try convince an Indy to repair. Doesn't need replacement it seems. Anyone else had similar issues? |

I had the ABS and DSC lights come on, along with the following warnings on iDrive:
Driving Stability! Drive moderately DBC malfunction! Drive carefully Start-off assistance inactive! Dealer pulled codes 5D91, 5D93, 5D96. Issue was a wheel speed sensor. Replaced it and solved the problem.

From my experience, it could be a number of things.
I had this issue a couple of months ago and unfortunately in my case, it turned out to be the DSC control unit. Carly showed code: 5DBB. Good luck and let us know what the culprit was. |
