With a decent exhaust you could probably make it sound like a 458 (the unique sound coming from the flat plane crank).

In other countries, they get taxed on CO2 emissions and engine displacement. A big engine will be a lot more costly to buy and own. You'll still see V8s in exotic and other high priced vehicles because they don't care about the costs... but for more mainstream cars, they are all but gone.
