Not to burst your bubble but dealers do this all the time. They make money on reselling the trade in as well as the new car + any financing you sign up for. I've gotten various calls and letters over the years about how 'sought after' my car(s) were.

Even for a minivan!

Yeah... this is a common dealer tactic. I very much doubt they'll pay more than book value for the car.

I used to get multiple letters in the mail for my e92 335i. It's just a spam mail trying to lure clueless folks into thinking they're special and getting a great deal.

They did that with my 4th Gen Viper trying to get me to buy a Gen5. I went down, drove it and decided it was a Gen4 with a new interior and body (and it is). However, if they put that SC on it like I have been hearing rumors, I might be forced to pick up my 4th Viper.

Like everyone else stated, its a dealer tactic.

Besides, you wont get too many F80 guys responding when its posted in the same forum as this thread.
