MDM button
Was with an M3 owner the other day who leaned over and asked me why my mdm was on.
To which I responded it's always on. he looked at me puzzled. I looked at him puzzled asking him how he can own an e92 m3 and leave it off? which brings me to my question am I the only person that leaves my mdm on all the time?

I think how you have M mode set up makes a difference in when/how you use it. If I'm sitting in traffic, I leave it off for more "relaxed" throttle response. Other than that, it's always on since its the quickest way to get to DSC OFF

For me, unless I want to drive aggressively its really not required. The car has enough power without it and I can manage to get pulled over with out the MDM

Unless I'm looking to attack the road in front of me, I leave it off. Just activate the "power" button because I like the sharpened throttle response.

MDM has to do with traction and stability control. You must be referring to the M button or power button. MDM has no effect on power output.

After turning on the car I press the M button. M mode, MDM on etc. Unless I'm in traffic, M mode and MDM are always on.

Mine is usually off. The only changes I've programmed to it are EDC and DSC settings. I leave the throttle alone, it way too twitchy otherwise. Not a fan of overly sensitive throttle settings for the sake of feeling "sporty." It's quite counterproductive to sporty driving, actually. Lol.

My MDM is just M Dynamic Mode. The throttle is unchanged and my car no longer has edc, euro mdm doesn’t cut the power much.

You need a new SWITCH UNIT SZL for the steering column in order for MDM to work.

I'm in M mode (MDM, "normal" EDC, sport steering, sport throttle and manual DCT) as soon as car is warmed up. Only time I put full traction control on is if it's dumping rain or wife is in the car. She doesn't appreciate a little RWD slippage.

Other threads have discussed possible effect of constant high throttle response to premature Throttle Actuator failure.

I usually drive with all the nannies off when having fun. Press DSC and hold for 3 seconds and enjoy for forever. Only downside is rubber loss. MDM is cool but I don't need it. Not claiming I'm the most skilled driver but our cars are predictable after some seat time.

I have my M settings all maxed out. I don't turn it on until the engine has reached full temp - then it's time to unleash the beast.

I have my key throttle settings to power sport all the time. I never use m button anymore since it's either on the street all nannies on or on the track, just press dsc off.

for me regardless of how skillful i'm i'd have mdm / dsc on public road. i don't want to take the risk of ruining my own or someone else life by causing an accident, with the regret of knowing it might have been preventable from nannies... |

I thought MDM was a less intervening version of traction /stability mode? Its independent of DSC????? If so, then with DSC off and MDM on, it would let you spin the tires pretty much unlimited until it detects that you're going sideways, then intervenes?
