359s scuffed - OCD?
When changing for new tires the shop even went to another place with a "better machine" in order to avoid any damages.
All four came back scuffed. Nothing crazy and mostly on the "inside" of the rim, but as they are (where) in perfect condition I felt...wtf. Am I being crazy OCD and should let the guys of the hook and get on with life? |

I don't think you're being crazy at all. There's no reason to scratch up a wheel like this when changing a tire. Have you brought this to the shops attention? What was their reply?

I know the guy - who brought the wheels to another shop - and sure I brought it up. They seems to be thinking about it alternatively hoping I will forget. Unfortunately for them I get reminded every morning I get out to the car...

you have to find a good "tire guy" who cares about his work. those marks are normally caused by laziness, its pretty simple to prevent that. i would send them the bill for wheel repair
if u got them back in different condition than u dropped them off youre NOT being OCD... |

Sure, that sounds good....but the oem 359 color is one of the hardest to replicate. so you end up with wheels that are the wrong color, not really a good solution.

There is zero reason for wheel damage these days. Any reputable shop will have a touchless setup and wheel damage results from them being lazy or rushing the job.

Eh, that's not been my experience. It looks like the finish is gouged, but I've never seen flaking from that sort of damage.

To say that I would be upset is an understatement. That is just sloppy work.
I hope this gets rectified. |

it only gets worse. its not a fast process, but next time a tire gets pressed on, it pulls at the edge of the gouge. contaminants also get in there and just start to loosen it up. regardless, its not the way it was when he brought it there.

Yep, good input guys. Will push on a bit even if I do like my bloke who handed it over - to do me a favour and ensure things went fine - so bit of a bummer going here.
If nothing else, will teach them don't mess with those OCD M3 folks.... |

Not crazy OCD - i'd be mad! Not sure what recourse you have but if you have photos of before, maybe you can argue something in your favor.
Also, those look like 359s, yeah? What size tires did you get? |

I now take clear pictures of all my wheels before getting tyres done just in case, and remind the tyre shop of their condition and that I have photos.
Don't settle for that crap, totally unacceptable. |

unacceptable, careless install, just had 19 mounted on 220s and I'm not even sure they touched the rims to do it....it was a "discount" shop, too.

So went to the shop long story short they agreed to refurbish the rims. Can't help feeling a bit bad for the proportions - big money for small scuffs - but probably pay one that had a minor scratch while leave the others to them.
Not easy to deal with M3 folks - customers from hell... |

Happened to my wheels when they were brand new too and they way over torqued them on to the hubs. Not only that but I felt they did a piss poor job balancing them as there seemed to be too many weights on the wheels, laziness.
This was at a firestone place too, never again. I'm to the point now where I've got some equipment in a cart at twinbusch.com and am waiting for an excuse to pull the trigger. That way I never have to entrust in a tire monkey again..
