Driver Hump...rattle?...no?
Does anyone get this weird noise from the hump (not navi hump) but the speedometer one when hitting bumps hard?
It doesn't sound like a rattle but more like something is loose...

Mine sounds like it's coming from the center hump/idrive/I'm not sure.

the car definitely makes creaking and rattling sound more in cold weather compared to summer times. I dunno why

Cluster case would be the instrument cluster area. I believe the tach and speedo are housed in a unit that becomes loose sometimes. The felt tape will keep it secure.

I have the same thing, it is either the cluster or a part in the steering column. I can make it stop by wedging my fingers in between the top of the column and the bottom of the cluster. Taking it in for a fix after the holiday and will report back on the cause.

Rattles? Did someone say rattles? I can't hear you over all of this rattling.
Yes, this car definitely rattles. Here are the notorious locations I've found over the last two years:
The dealer can install felt as others have mentioned...this does work where applicable.

Yeah, me too. That dash rattle (rattles, really) is one of the many I have. I tried pressing everywhere but doesn't stop. Will try between steering column and cluster next time, but we still need to reach that area to investigate further. I definitely won't let a dealer mess with that, so it'd have to be me. Has anybody removed the cluster from the top? A DIY (or just some instructions) would be great. It's much better (and convenient) to insulate everything from the top than from underneath.
Looking forward to hear from somebody who has removed that thing, so we can quiet those rattles. At least the ones who want to DIY . That's the most annoying one, but the one inside the door is getting on my nerves too. Was trying to avoid having to remove the door panel, but seems like I'll have no choice. The tweeter cover was contributing, and I removed it and wedged a piece of electrical tape to eliminate the gap, and it reduced the ratting by 50%, but something else is rattling inside. Possibly the door lock rods; can't think of anything else, but could be a speaker too. Need to get inside. Thanks gang. |

Had the same issue to include a slight rattle in my NAV area. The wierd part is the speed-o area rattle was really only noticable when the outside temp was really cold. Not really sure what the dealer did, but its gone now....

I hear rattles in the center of my dashboard under the navi. The exhaust just rattles everything in my car. But i do get occasional rattles from the Navi hump as well.

I have the rattle with the window into the instrument cluster, if I hold it, it stops. So where do you put the felt tape to fix it?? Would love to get this resolved without a trip to the dealer.

My car, obviously a lot older than all of your cars, rattles way more in the winter than in the summer. I am guessing its because the cold weather is causing the parts to shrink ever so slightly. This may open up more room for parts, that were previously snug, to move about a wee bit more.
