Taking my E92 to Europe for 6 months
Hi All.
I'm going to Western Europe for 6 months soon.. I'm taking my m3 with me. Question : do I have to do some changes to the blinkers or some other stuff in the car? I'll be driving around there with my US tags . please advice . Thanks |

I don't think you will have a hug issue here. Germany was used to U.S. cars from service members and now all EURO union. It's the U.S. EPA/Custom/NHTSA Marxists that create all the problems trying to get a non spec U.S. car here.

The shipping cost isn't a killer .
I guess there shouldn't be any additional charges for bringing my car back to US after 6 months From NY area only $800 on each way to Bremerhaven in Germany. I got few mods done to my car as full catless exhaust and I think that might be a problem ...hmmm |

But the advantage is that you can get Ron/Octane 100 in Germany and your S65 will start to fly ! And don't forget the Deutsche Autobahn ....200 km/h is nothing ! About your exhaust personal I think no worries, because in Germany are a lot tuned cars and fast sports cars , we have here the yearly car inspection ,and your car is not a Euro/Spec car and you don't live over here,so in your case the Euro approval card from the yearly car inspection is not required for you, because your car is not Euro ! But if you need to go to the yearly car inspection in case of changing adress, (Don't think that's the situation) you would fail no doubt ! Maybe have some German guys on here more answers....

From my own experience...
A couple years ago we moved from the USA to Germany. We took our car, an almost new jetta, with us. To get the car legally on the road in Germany was not a problem. It only needed some changes to the lights. When I was preparing for the move back to the USA I inquired about bringing the car back with us to the USA. I learned that every car that gets imported to the USA is treated as a vehicle that has never been in the USA. This made me sell the car. You might want to check on that... |
