I'll have the coolant serviced to ensure no air is in the system and the thermostat is working properly. I'll also be sure the correct coolant mix is used. I'll post the results.

Thanks.

Has anyone found a solution to higher than normal temps in this car? Mines consistently running between 210 and the next marker (255?) during stop and go traffic. On the open highway, I can get it back to the 210 mark if I'm driving cautiously in the highest gear.

Is your viscous radiator fan working OK? I guess it should be running full time by 210 to 220F?

Would that be the large fan just behind the radiator? If so, then yes, it's running.

Since you had issues in stop & go traffic and not so much on the highway, the fan was a good suggestion. Although it is primarily there for the main radiator, the fan does pull air through the oil cooler as well. A fan is not needed when the car is up above 25 mph or so, since there is so much air flow already.

I would also check the oil cooler for blockage or extensively damaged fins. At times mechanics working in the vicinity of any radiator type device can inadvertently mash a lot of the fins closed, since they are so easily bent.
