O2 Sensor Fault Codes - Deciphering Help
MY 03/08 E92 M with pullies / test pipes / air filter / Stage II tune.
I had issues with my Throttle Valve Actuators and got them replaced under warranty (though had to pay a deductible). Now I have some O2 sensor faults (known to be problematic sometimes) so I just want some help deciphering which ones I need to replace. Here are the codes: 27C7 - Lambda sensor trim control AD diagnostic bank 2 2771 - Lambda sensor dynamic diagnostic VKAT bank 1 From my understanding: VKAT = VOR (before) Cat NKAT = NACH (after) Cat bank 2 = drivers side bank 1 = passenger side So it looks like I should replace both before Cat 02 Sensors. Just want some concurence prior to buying the following 02 sensors: http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-17039-Ox.../dp/B000JZEXG8 Thanks for the reassurance! |

Thanks for the information!
Well I will double check the clamps for my test pipes as well as bolts to the header. If the problem persists, then I should replace both Pre-O2 sensors..maybe post cat on drivers side if the problem persists even more.... Positive reassurance please! Sorry my friend, very busy at work.
Lets see, i would start by clearing the code and do a drive cycle and see what happens. Your car is an 08 so i would also suggest a fresh set of primary O2s if the codes come back. Also, which tune do you have ? Did all these codes started popping up after the new tune was loaded ? Good Luck and send me a PM if you need help with anything. |

I have cleared them once already and then the came back in a few hundred miles. I have had these codes pop up whenever the throttle valve actuator whould act up. therefore I thought it was part of the Throttle valve actuator. this happened all before any tuning was done on my car. |

Follow this and PM me with any questions plz: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=735033 I would personally change the O2s first cause throttle actuators are pricey |

I also checked to make sure my clamps for the test pipes were tight and they were. Now I am not sure what the next step would be. Any suggestions? |

Did you replace the post cat oxygen sensors or the precat sensors?

This was some time ago...I really don't remember. I only remember replacing my pre-cat sensors (post cats don't really mater after you tune and get test pipes). If you don't have test pipes, then replace your post cat sensors.

Guys, I have acrapovic exhaust and last OEM DME software without any tune.
For a long time I had only two DME error codes: 2789 - Catalytic-converter conversion, bank 1 278A - Catalytic-converter conversion, bank 2 So it is normal because acra does not have the cats. Sometime ago I got more error codes: 2727 - Oxygen sensor before cat., bank 2, plausibility 277D - Oxygen sensor trim control diagnosis, bank 2 27C7 - Oxygen sensor, adaptation, trim control, bank 2 So, I desided to replace my pre-cat O2 sensor driver side. Yesterday I replaced it. Today I deleted all error codes and drove my car. Gets approx 100 km and I see the MIL (small check engine light) on my dashboard. I read my error codes again and I see the next errors: 277D - Oxygen sensor trim control diagnosis, bank 2 27C7 - Oxygen sensor, adaptation, trim control, bank 2 What's wrong? Maybe the reason is something other than my bank 2 O2 sensor? |
