doesnt seem to be a CF top. just a CF glued on to the stock plenum. and if this were to be a cf topped plenum, it would be a really bad design if it werent made/designed on auto CAD. along with the fact that the rough side of th ecf is on the bottum. def. a no no due to turbulence...

so what your saying is that they are basically scamming people...

Then again with a price tag of $4000 only fools would buy it anyway.

That price is insane. Nice looking, but as one poster said... put the emblems in the right place.

not to thread jack, but I have the same product guys in carbon fiber from technocraft. I had it in my vehicle for about 4000 miles. It is definitely enlarged as the hood does make contact with. When the vehicle is under load with the natural engine movements.

Anyone interested please PM me and give me an email so I can send you a pic.

Great looking piece. Ill give mine away for....800.

Sitting in my garage shrink wrapped and needs to go!!

If someone is able to make a CSL lookalike concept, it would sell like hotcakes.

The sound from the 8 ITBs would scream so much louder than the E46 M3 CSL.

Obviously this airbox is for the Straight Six engine where the ITBs are side mounted. The S65 ITBs are top mounted.

The reason why the CSL airbox produce probably the loudest intake sound was due to little restriction and large Intake tract that is exposed to atmosphere.

If the S65 Airbox was larger in volume, eliminate the Intake elbow onwards.

The problem would be to insert some form of air filters to the airbox and also integrating the Top Air vent and bottom Air snorkel to the Airbox.

As you can see on the CSL airbox, a large panel filter that conforms to the shape of the airbox is the primary means of air filtration.

If this CSL concept airbox can be made and priced lower than Gruppe M, pretty sure a lot of people would be interested even if it didn't gain any horsepower. This is assuming it doesn't cause you to lose horsepower either.
