Brake pad question?? AKEBONO vs BOSH vs StopTech.....
Hi guys,
Trying to source some brake pads for my e92 M3. Car is basic street use and not tracked. Want something with low noise, minimal dust and close to oem feel. Has anyone tried Bosh? any feedback. Also considering Stoptech Street but very hard to find someone to delivery to the bottom of earth (New Zealand). Finally, I've read some positive feedback on Akebono and seem to be reasonable price. Much appreciate your thought, thanks |

I have Akebono Euro's on my car and I love them. They're very aggressive when heated up, but they don't kill your rotors. Dust seems to be minimal for a ceramic pad.

Another big +1 for Akebono Euro.
I even tracked the car on these and they held up amazingly well. No complaints whatsoever and I'd absolutely recommend them for a primarily street driven car.

Akebonos are a ceramic pad which will create a lighter colored dust. The wheels will look cleaner from far away, but they don't really dust any less.
No experience with Bosch pads but I suspect they're just an OEM equivalent type of pad. Should also be fine.

How is the initial bite with the Akebonos? I've ran them on prior BMWs and everything the two of you are saying is true but the initial bite was considerably less than OE pads.

I ran Stoptech street/track on my 335i and had nothing but issues when I had the car. I'm running Hawk HPS on my m3 now and love them. I've used akebono pads on other vehicles and like them most of the 3 you listed but Bosch on my wife's xc90 have been good.
