35. 40 is too tall up front and will hit stuff.

265/35 square is the go-to setup for now.
I am looking at trying some others this year possibly as well. Will report back if/when I do.

265/35. Even if the 40 would fit (which it might not), take the 35 for the lower weight and gearing advantage.

I think slicer had a set?
I also recall fsmtnbiker having 295 Nankangs which would be similar square.

I don't think you'll find a ton of people running that setup. If they are it would likely be for either autox or a time attack series/class that mandates 200tw, on top of being able to fit a 295 up front - this limits the number of potential users of this setup a lot. For lapping use there are much better options from what I've heard. They are a very fast tire but wear out very quickly and don't hold up to much more then 2 hot laps before getting greasy and overheating.

275/35 is great as long as it clears your strut
40 sidewall definitely way too tall... Below on 18x10 +15 front, +10 rear Rubbed on freaking everything. I ordered 275/35 and we'll see... I've researched and plenty of people do 275/35 square |

Regarding the NT01 - I'm not sure. I sure wish they did. The 305's are simpler to big being a 35 profile to run up front. That's the reason I went to the RR, they offer a 295/30 and a 285/30. Very similar to the Nitto overall and a bit quicker. If people want something very similar to the NT01 they can either go RR in 285/30 or 295/30 or the R888R also comes in a 295/30. |

Yea, the RR is appealing, I just feel like that extra 50% tread depth of the NT01 is nice for someone who does a lot of events. It is 4 vs 6 32nds, correct?

I'm running a 140mm spring on my KW competition setup. I recently switched my helper spring to a lower rate helper, which is turn compresses more than the stock helper and brought my spring perch up 12mm. This gave me the clearance to run 295's up front. I'm at -3.7* though. I'm not sure how similar the shock bodies are between the two but I have 'plenty' (all relative) of clearance to my shock body, the perch sits near the top of the tire now (where it begins to round off) and has about 4mm of clearance. I'm going to go into more detail on this when I post an update in my build thread. |

I was able to get 3000 street miles and 4 track days out of a set of A052s in stock size (245/40 and 265/40 18"). Kind of fast wear but that's enough for a year of driving for my car.

A052 doesn't have 275/35, only 275/40...

I find I can go most of a session on A052 before it gets greasy. RE71R can only last 2-3 laps before it gets greasy. The A052 is more consistent but it wears much faster. Not really a factor for track days, but the A052 is also very quiet and comfortable on the street. Very cool for a track day tire with so much grip.

I have square 295/30-18 A052s on 11s on my E92.
The wheel is as tight to the shock body as possible, spring perch above the tire, and it takes a minimum of -3 camber to slide inside the fender. But they fit fine. |
