Arkym Lip Install

I posted two shots of the install on my 1200 mile service thread last night. I also asked the question about sealing the lip for a cleaner look. Well I got no responses so, I ventured into the untested waters and did it today. The results are just what I was looking for.........enjoy.................Phil

The first photo is the left corner after the initial install

I was a little nervous about the fit before I ordered it. But based on the many here that have installed it, I went for it. And I must say this is one of the best fitting after-market pieces I've seen. I probably used more tape than most but I wanted it to be really secure.....Phil

Very nice. That's an ingenious idea with the sealant, we may have to copy your idea for our future installs

I use that black silicone ALL THE TIME. I have gone through god knows how many tubes over the years. I just used it last week working on the Z to fill in a connector where the gasket was bad. Its like my duct tape!

when you remove the lip from your car, will this silicone be easy to remove?

Looking good. Now the only problem is removing the sealant when removing the lip from the car. Is the sealant compound easy to remove and won't damage the paint.

If that sealant is anything like Betalink then no

Based on what I've read paint damage shouldn't be a issue. As far as removing the sealant, it should be fairly easy. You guys must remember, it's only a small amount across the top. It wasn't installed with sealant behind the lip. Think of caulking a sink or tub......same affect with less sealant..............Phil

If it's the same as caulking then no issue with removing! Yeah, I think I was impatient when installing my Challenge lip and some part didn't tape properly to my bumper.

I had the arkym lip on my 335i. Great quality and fitment. I really wish there was a lip out there that looked OEM though, that's the only thing preventing me from getting a lip right now, everything looks too tacked on imo.
