That's the beauty of this forum - you can learn from the experience of others... I certainly have. Very happy that this thread helped!

I also found this thread very helpful. That said, my dealer replaced my valve and I'm still having occasional issues. I also noticed after they replaced it, it started idling funny without the AC on.

When I was stopped with the AC on, foot on the brakes the car idles fine. Now when you turn the AC off, the idle dips way down to about 500 rpms (from 750). It's at the dealer now but they've got no clue...last thing they asked me was if I let the car warm up before driving....**sigh**.

Also, on the way to work in traffic, the car randomly died and when I started it back up, it the did weird bouncing idle thing like in post #20 of this thread. Valve was already replaced. Now what?

The first part is normal, I think everyone's rpm's drop from 750 to 525 when pressing the brake with no ac on, correct me if I'm wrong guys. The second part, I saw on another thread with ppl that stall during idle had a problem not with the expensive idle control valve, but the coolant temp sensor or something like that.

That was one of the many things I was thinking. Unfortunately the dealer wrote my symptoms down wrong so when the tech looked at it, he was even looking for the right issues. I'm leaving the country for about six months so it'll have to wait until I get back..........

I found threads where some people say it was normal but I swear it didn't do it before they changed my plugs. Another guy said the EXACT same thing so maybe we're both just crazy . A couple threads said low fuel pressure sensor but my dealer wasn't too keen on trying to figure the problem out. I'm going to try another one when I get back.

I was thinking initially before breather valve was replaced it was bad gas, but I only use Shell/Mobil.

The other parts they replaced didn't seem to matter, as the next fill-up or two I'd experience the idle issue again. I can't say that this will address the issue with your car, but our symptoms do seem to be the same. I can only share my experience and hope that it helps you and others having this same issue.
What are the vanos part they changed ?

I have the errors:

27A6 - tank venting valve activation
271A - vanos control bank 1 intake

I know this is an old thread but I only seem to have this problem while filling up. If i fill up with the car on it will always shut off after about a 1/4 tank has been filled. If i modulate the throttle I can get the car to stay on.

The car has never shut off on me during any other time.

^ You're supposed to shut off the engine before filling. I've always done that so never experienced your issue...

Owner's manual states to turn the vehicle off when fueling, that may be part of your problem.
