I took delivery at the end of October 2008 and I just got the offer as well. I just sent in my registration forms. I'm planning to use frequent flyer miles to get there but I might not be able to fly in and fly out within 2 days because flights to Hawaii are only once a day. I might just end up paying a bit to stay in the hotel an extra night or two but if that's the only expense for the trip its so worth it.

Hands down a blast! Anyone that gets an invite should go. I did upgrade to the 2 days class and it was well worth it. Instructors, facility, food, hotel, downtown area at night...all were great experiences. I learned alot.. especially pushing our cars to the max and seeing their capabilities. They gave us a bunch of goodies too. Go.. you won't regret it.

OMG I bought mine in 08 and never got this and am signed up to go to the one day M school in May and it wasn't cheap. Was this from your dealer?

Hey thanks go figure, I paid too much to get the first car and now I lucked out on this. I'm going to call BMW anyway and see if I can get this worked out.

Did you pay for your school? EVERYTHING I've read said it's only a single day event that's free.

For the guys who went for a one day or upgraded to a two day, did they give you a helmet? My buddy got a helmet when he paid for a 2 day event.
I went to a modified M school at AutoClub Speedway when they tried moving it around. It wasw OK, but nothing like a CCA event with an instructor in each car. If there's no instructor in the car, it's NOT IN CAR INSTRUCTION.

Sorry, I was told by them that you still have to own the car. They will send you a form to register with, which you have to send back along with a copy of you sales or lease agreement and current car registration to prove you still own the car.
They called me today to set it up. My son and I will be there in September.

A few of the people in my class had bought M3's, and upgraded fromt eh 1 to 2 day school. Then you get to play on the big 1.3mi road course, and get a BMW ///M helmet also
yeah, i decided to go with 1 day first as a "stepping stone". next time i go definitely it's 2 day. i heard that if you get m5/m6 they still offer this m school, is that true? that'd be great since i can just upgrade to 2 days

chuck
to clarify, it's the 1-day m driving school. not the normal 1 day school. all you drive are the m cars

yup, that's what my cousin did, used his flyer miles, 10 bucks out of pocket.

they pay for TWO nights of hotel, the one before your school and also the night after your m school.

nop, i didn't pay a dime except my airfare. m school ($1295 i think), will include the event, two nights hotel stay, the dinner the night before the school, 2 days' breakfast, and also the lunch during the m school of course. actually in my case all the people i have talked to, they all get the same treatment

i think 03BeastCharmer mentioned that he got the m helmet.

i am pretty aware of what is in car instruction. what i did was pointing out m school is NOT follow the leader type of driving (which i think is pretty pointless as well)

Any of you with 2010 or 2011 models getting this offer too?

And for people who are receiving these offers, are you getting these from your dealer?

No, it comes from BMWNA. Dealer has nothing to do with it.

I inquired about the complimentary 1 day M school with my recent 2011 M3 order. I was told you just are eligible for the regular PCD experience. Luckily I still qualified for the 1 day M school from my M5. I did not inquire if you could pay the difference for the 2 day school.

I did run in to a potential problem though. I am trying to coordinate the 1 day M school with a PCD re-delivery of my ED car. So the car comes over on the boat and who knows when it gets to the PCD. In looking at their M school schedules you will see tons of dates. So I am thinking that it will be easy and I may just have to wait a week or two extra for re-delivery. Yet when they approved me for the school it was only for certain dates when they do the complimentary driving schools. So paying customers are either getting the other premium dates and/or a different experience....who knows. But I know they won't hold your car at the PCD forever and I don't want to wait that long anyway.

I would be curious to see if anyone else has taken the free M school outside of the designated dates.

Nope. My wife sprang for it and I'm using some of my someday-to-be-worthless frequent flyer miles to get there and back first class. I also added two nights hotel, again on our dime, so I can compensate for the time difference a bit, do a factory tour, and see the Zentrum the day before and fly back the day after the school finishes (flight schedules).

You only get the helmet with the 2 day M school, as a helmet is actually required when you do the full road course on the afternoon of the 2nd day. No helmet used during the 1 day event.

To "kcdude24" - My friend did ED, re-delivery at PC & then did M School, before driving back to Texas. You can do it. He was also tempted to go do the tail of the dragon on the afternoon he picked up the car before M School dinner, but there just wasn't enough time.

So what do you do during the 1 day event? There must be some track time but I would think you'd need a helmet for track time.
And they pay for 2 days hotel for a one day school?? Too bad it's in the middle of no where.
